have you or anyone noticed a lot of references to the doctor being a god?! this xmas special mentioned about if he had control of who live or dies (a god), he would be a monster. im sure its cropped up a few more times aswell -seems a bit suggetive to be left :p

  3. Hello Rich!
Yes, I have noticed the God references... they were about in Last of the Time Lords as well:

Master: Watching entire civilizations burn.. You must have felt like a god.

Or something like that. I don't know if anything will come of it though, but its certainly worth a thought!

  4. I'm glad it's not just me noticing the god references.

There's also the house god statues in FOP which I'm sure points to a future storyline.

  5. I don't know...the house gods were edited out of the US version of FoP -- which leads me to think that they're not vital, just a silly joke.

  10. Ooh, a Rose sighting! I'm all the more excited to see this!

Yeah, that Rose sighting was wierd!
Maybe she was trying to patch into the TARDIS using some Torchwoody stuff, but it was already occupied by Donna...

    ...just a thought

yea i think shes trying to communicate with the doctor

    ReplyDelete
  13. AnonymousMay 03, 2008

I think she just got bad luck... twice...

The first time she NEARLY got to see the Doctor! If only she'd gone with Donna.

The second time, Donna cut Rose off... well not Donna, but the Doctor cut her off the screen. NEARLY...

Although, someone mentioned on Silence in the library/Forest of the dead that maybe the library has got a book for everyone in the universe, and maybe Donna finds the Doctor's book and finds out Rose is back...

    ...just a thought...again...

so if the bees werent mentioned...they must have some other importance.....i wonder

Maybe the bees are going into the parallel world... If it's falling apart, anything could happen!

  18. - The Dissappearing Bees weren't mentioned, even though we know there are Sontaran/Bee issues, perhaps the Bees are red herring? But perhaps this leads into the Agatha Christie story The Unicorn and the Wasp?

    - About eight minutes in to the story, where The Doctor was communicating with the Sontaran ship, there was a flash frame on the monitor of a blonde girl, I'll have to wait for the screencaps of the episode to be released, but who bets its Rose? :)

    - We heard that Sir Alastair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart is "stranded" in Peru, I wonder if this is a clue to a future episode?

    - When the TARDIS returned to earth you could clearly see graffitti of a red wolf again, IMHO there is far too much graffiti in Doctor Whos earth, or perhaps I live in a clean city?

    - The Rutans where mentioned but not seen.

    - I noticed Donnas grey ring this episode, isn't it ugly? Is Donna where the master is hiding, or perhaps an unknowing agent for him? Are my predictions that Donna is a Turlough correct?

Jack had to wait a 100 years to get in touch with the doctor, damm bet he wished he had whatever rose was using not to mention the whole dilemma of parallel Earth thing. Guess we can be sure of one thing Rose is determined, and lets hope not being used.

when the Doctor puts the gasmask on "Are you my mummy?" Brilliant!!

  26. You know, there's a bit of a pattern developing in this series. Every episode so far has had a character who's a complete... I'm not gonna curse, but there have been some annoying folks. The Roman augur with the stone arm, the guy who got turned into an Ood, Luke Rattigan. What's up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I forgot Rickston Slade, by the way (from the Christmas Special).

The flash of Rose was very cool. Also, very spooky.
I had a feeling she was gonna pop up again in one of the two parts of these episodes.

Who wants to bet she got on the Tardis screen through her Bad Wolf connection? X)

    ReplyDelete
  29. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

That bit with Rose was definitely spooky... rather creepy, in fact. And its a big hint that something is really wrong in the parallel universe she is in. My question is: Why is she trying to reach the Doctor? And why didn't she do so in the first episode, when she was back in the doctor's universe? (Other than because that's what the writers wanted.)

I guess she was looking for him, so she showed up at the Adipose site because it was the sort of place he'd be, but she didn't find him. So then she tried the communicator thing.

I knew you could make up another word ending in "ness". Perhaps you should write about when the Doctor meet the Loch "NESS" Monster, in Terror of the Zygons.

  32. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

You are taking this all wrong.

Rose wasn't trying to communicate with the doctor at all.

Its obviously a Rose screensaver the Doctor downloaded.

    ReplyDelete
  33. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

I thought the Rose sighting was a brilliant surprise. Makes you feel you are part of the story, trying to fit pieces together.

The Doctors Daughter next week is keeping me guessing even more.

    Excellent!!

  34. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

Oh yes and the "Are you my mummy?" comment, sure brilliance x

  35. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

I can't wait til next week to see what the Doctor's actually answer to Donna asking how the girl could have come from him. Because the slightly sheepish look on his face makes me think, "Well, there was this girl I met on this planet once...we had a fling, but..." ;) Or maybe that's just my naughty mind hoping the Doctor got it on at some point.

Every time I think of next week's episode, I keep thinking of season 2 when he tells Rose he was a father once. Maybe we'll find out? Maybe we won't. Who knows? So exciting!

If you watch the Rose bit again, it could be said she is saying, "Donna." Maybe she is trying to warn her about something?

    ReplyDelete
  43. AnonymousMay 04, 2008

Maybe she's trying to warn her about 'something on her back'.

I thought she was saying Doctor, but now you mention it, it does look a BIT like she's saying Donna.

  49. I'm from Australia. What's the difference between a BAFTA Cymru and a 'normal' BAFTA?

I agree we don't need awards. We know our show is the best, but it's nice to get acknowledgement from non-Whovians now and then.

Maybe, Rose has got some time-travelly stuff from Torchwood as well. It seems quite likely if she can travel between different univereses. Good point though Sander!

Also, did anyone see The Doctors Daughter trailer on BBC1 last night? I've been searching for it on Youtube, but no luck...

  51. AnonymousMay 05, 2008

Rose and Donna are massively intertwined. Rose looked into the heart of the Tardis consuming its energy and donna had cells injected into her that were identical to what the Tardis runs on (during the Christmas special) . I think this is why Rose has only had screen shots with Donna, because both their bodies have Tardis energy residue in them, which im guessing is more powerful then the old time travel background radiation that other companions have.

She may be trying to get in contact with Donna, and this is how Donna is warned about Daleks or whatever is returning. Jess, I love your site!
