Hoorayness

Despite fears, the BBC site has indeed been updated with Silence in the Library goodness!

Although I do have to say, there isn't as much as usual. For starters, we aint got a fear forecast, or a new clip of the episode.

But what we have got is the usual jigsaw:

This extract of script:

THE GIRL
Something's here! Someone got in! No one's supposed to get in!
Dad, agitated, barely able to keep his seat...
DAD
She's never mentioned anyone else. She's always been alone.
The girl, panicking now, afraid...
THE GIRL
Someone's in my library.

And this very strange, but perfectly amazing video of Harry Peacock (who plays "Proper Dave") playing a tune on his teeth!

what does this guy playing his teeth have to do with Doctor Who in any way? and please don't say "he's an actor on the show". How does him playing the William Tell Overture relate to the episode?

  20. Screen cap it and you also get various volumes of "somebody's" History of England, a book that says something like "Examining Clouds", Love's Labours Lost, Monty Python's Big Red Book & as previously stated A Journal Of Impossible Things.

It doesn't. Sometimes things are just for amusement.

So, if 'Journal of impossible things' is there, does it mean that Joan published it? Perhaps in John Smith's memory?

    ReplyDelete
  24. btw didn't Douglas Adams used to write for Doctor Who?

    ReplyDelete
  25. According to IMDB, he wrote the Pirate Planet, Destiny of the Daleks, City of Death, The Creature from the Pit, Nightmare of Eden, and The Horns of Nimon.

  26. the library supposedly contains everything that has ever been written....

I assume perhaps its not just published materials, and it has some way of finding written words? not sure....

The writing looks like "Hit XXX of the..." and then the word "Ood backwards. The drawing is bizarre - perhaps the time vortex? Wibbly wobbly timey wimey.......

'the girl' probably lives in the library (her library) so she must be immune to the shadows. the people in the library are probably the doctor and donna and her dad must be talking to someone else, not the girl.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 06 - Origins Of The Universe.

I think it's a reference to Destiny of the Daleks, in which the Doctor is reading a book of the same title. (For anyone who's read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, it might amuse you to know that the book in question was written by Oolon Colluphid, author of 'Where God Went Wrong', 'Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes' and 'Who is this God Person Anyway?' Unsurprisingly, it was Douglas Adams who wrote Destiny of the Daleks.)

The Doctor : "He got it wrong on the first line! Why didn't he ask someone who saw it happen?"

12 - MIGHT BE Loves Labors Lost
13 - the time machine DEFIANTLY

15 - 7 Encyclopedias, seem to be "somebodys" History of England.

the titles are worked out by varying ppl above and me :)

    can anyone help further?

    ReplyDelete
  37. i also believe some or all of my "clever" links (eg jim broadbent) are wrong, i suspect all or most books have appeared in varying episodes.

i think the 7 encyclopedia set may be from human nature.

we still need 09 too btw

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm definitely not certain, but when you rotate #9 upside down and backwards it looks like the title is 'poker.' I'm pretty sure the middle letter is a K.

    ReplyDelete
  39. i see why ppl get "Loves Labors Lost", but i dont, i cant make it fit!
