Transformation?

There are many people out there forming giant speculations about who the flip the girl is in Silence of the Library (the most prominent is that she's the computer)

Anywhoo, heres a little something to add to speculation!

An interview with Eve
One of the best bits about being in Doctor Who was that I got to have make-up done as I turn into something in the second episode.

I had something stuck on with glue and then to activate the make-up they put alcohol over it so I smelled like alcohol! It took about an hour and a half to put on and they had to pull it all off afterwards!

Whatddya think about that then!?

  2. Hmmm... Might be some sort of thing that defies the Vashta Nerada?

i reckon the alcohol evaporates and whatever is on her face dries out and wrinkles aging the girl to 100 years old. or she's eaten by the Vashta Nerada. bet it stung her eyes like mad though. fumes.

Or maybe she'll simply turn into a CPU, something like her skin will melt and reveal metal? (Probably too simple...)

Different thought: could that black widow be Miss Evangelista? She covers her face from Donna, maybe because Donna isn't supposed to recognize her? Or maybe she's a glitch in the Matrix :), that's why she covers her face?

  11. If it's alcohol activated make-up then I think it's just what they use to realistically cover a prosthetic. It's sort of solid and turns into make-up with alcohol, and therefore is taken off with alcohol as well.

If you think about it long enough, you can figure out what the girl turns into . . .

  14. lol
that WOULD be quite interesting if she did turn into Davros.
...although I can't see any way that would make sense.

  16. Hm, I'm personally getting images in my head of the little girl being hooked up to the computer a bit like that lady from Bad Wolf was connected to the Game Station.

  17. it's alcohol activated makeup such a matthew mungle's stacolors or skin illustrator.
it's basically pure pigment in a kind of plastic like medium.
you put the alcohol in the palette to dilute it into something you can paint onto the skin or prosthetics.

smells and burns for a few seconds, but that stuff will not sweat off under studio lighting or come off in water.

also because it uses alcohol to paint it on you can also dilute it super thin for subtle washes, such as the vein patterns you see often on Torchwood.

No, in all seriousness...who knows? This story is really making my brain hurt trying to figure it out.

It would make sense if she was the computer....as she was linked into the spherical camera thing. But then who does that make Doctor Moon? I have a feeling he is going to be someone nasty.

By the way - there was a new trailer on BBC1 last night, slightly different to the one showed on Saturday - can someone put it on here? I was trying to watch it and someone wouldn't stop talking to me!

Is it possible that Doctor Moon has anything to do with the girl's transformation and make up and stuff? It would explain how he seems to know so much about this library, even though it is inside her head.

while watching it last night as well as the picture of the Wolf and Rose theres what also appears to be a grey badger like painting and a darker haired girl.
Is the badger just a wolf again?

    ReplyDelete
  23. AnonymousJune 03, 2008

Is the badger just a wolf again? NO! The badger is The Badger - this is the first Dr Who / Apprentice mash-up and next season Surallan will be auditioning companion candidates. You read it here first!

it would make sense if the the girl was the computer as she has the link to the library, and in the bbc advert, the floor of the library opens up to what looks like the vortex thing we see the doctor travelling through, and the core of the planet is meant to be the hard drive, so when the planet sealed itself, it could have made the alternate world with the vortex leading to in and the girl as the main link??? just a theory.

NODES!!! has anyone thought about The Girl turning into a node!! also Donna, she's been saved yes? and she's a Node, WHAT IF all the other people are still alive with donna, and The Nodes, are the ones that were locked in the library!! there fore.. they could have been saved in the Data Core of the PLANET!! Also, have u noticed, they don't know what the Girl is called, and they don't know what Cal is? THE GIRL MIGHT BE CAL!!!

Anyone else thinking that the person he's talking to when he says "You just killed someone I like. THAT IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAND!" could be River Song? I mean, there must be a good reason for showing us so little of his/her/it's face. And before you say "She already knows he's the doctor" I say, "He likes to rant."

    ReplyDelete
  31. AnonymousJune 04, 2008

I had this odd feeling that he was saying that to Doctor Moon, even though I have no basis for saying that! I really think Moon is a baddy. I want to know why the little girl is shouting "Daddy no!" - is she saying that because her father is doing something bad, or that something bad is happening to him? I favour the latter, as he seemed like a good egg generally.

  32. AnonymousJune 04, 2008

Also, we're focusing on who did the killing, but who is killed? Who does the Doctor 'like'? He doesn't know anyone there except Donna, and she's already gone (well - 'saved').

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's definitely Donna, she's the only one there that's his friend (that he knows of), and he *does* think she's dead, because earlier he'd explained to Donna that all the faces on the nodes were faces of dead people.

Now, as for who he's talking to, I doubt it's the girl. I base this on his disagreement with Rose when Cloe was kidnapping children in "Fear Her". He never raised his voice at her, and he just doesn't seem the type to yell at a child.

I'm guessing it's either the Vashta Narada he's yelling at (even if he doesn't know if they can respond or even understand), or Doctor Moon.

HOWEVER, I have a theory that the person he tells, "Don't play games with me," is River Song. If you notice, he's looking at someone in a suit, but if you look close you'll notice that the helmet of the suit isn't on, so it's not a suit monster.

OR...it could just be that Lux fellow, but I'm betting it's River.

If you are speculating about RiverSong's name:

Does anyone remember one of the last sentences (POTO)of Sigma Ood: "Your song must end soon" ?

    That's MY theory:
RiverSong is someone "special" to the Doctor (wife?); and definitely the Doctor's RiverSONG. So, make it up...

That would explain the name and it seems to be pretty true, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense (to me).

Anon. Said: "watched SITL again and its defenately a different screw-driver to the doctors, infact looks like a olde tech or one built from scrap."

Doesn't this tell you something...? The very first episode back in the 60's, the TARDIS was seen in a scrapyard.

To me, River Song is the embodiment of the TARDIS.

Maybe that's why he doesn't recognize her? And who else would know SO much about him?

    Think about it :)
