New Doctor to be announced on Children In Need?
Due to be broadcast on Friday 14th November, one of the treats for Children In Need, according to Wogan, could be that they “may announce the new Doctor Who”.
Now this could clearly mean a number of things, as part of the Children In Need extravaganza will be the broadcasting of the first two minutes of the upcoming Christmas special, The Next Doctor. Could Wogan’s comment be related to that, which is quite likely? Could the man just be going mad? Or are we really going to see the planet’s most anticipated casting decision revealed in the midst of a charity telethon?
So yes, fun! Read the full article here for the pure joy.
i cant wait i hope they do i feel the sooner we know the sooner we move forward with dreaming and thinking of season 5 but it seems real soon to know also. so we will wait and see its going to be exciting for sure

I reckon that he is just confused because of the episodes title. Wogan is a man who easily gets hold of the wrong end of the stick.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt it, unless David Morrissey is going to be Eleven.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eduard, Wogan's so befuddled these days he's almost certainly got the wrong end of the stick (the episode they're previewing is, of course, called The Next Doctor) and has, in his confused state, decided this would be a great way to boost publicity for Children in Need.
ReplyDeleteWith a year of Tennant, it's too early to reveal who's going to be taking his place...
It's more likely to come when Steven Moffat is being probably introduced to the general public as the new showrunner (around the time of the final 'special', I'd reckon).
*waits for an uncomprehendable post by doctor who fan*
ReplyDeleteQuite right too!
ReplyDeleteMy money's on Matthew Macfadyen....
(or David Morrissey)
Cameron Mcewan:
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I was watching Little Dorrit recently, and I was thinking the same thing. Matthew Macfadyen is very 'doctorish' isn't he?
i cant see them announcing it over a YEAR before it happens!
ReplyDeleteMy instinct still tells me it's going to be David Morrissey. I think all this other speculation thrown out there has been a distraction from the obvious right in front of us.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they will announce it this far ahead and I doubt it will be Morrissey. However, it would be kinda cool if it was him. We've had plenty of stories where the doc runs into a prior incarnation, but never one where he's run into a future incarnation. Would be nice to do that.
ReplyDeleteI'd love it to be Morrissey, but won't be devastated if it isn't. And I reaaaaaaally doubt they're going to announce it now. That's just silly.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I don't know how they'd keep it quiet for long. It takes nine months to film a season of Doctor Who (or it has taken that long so far). Even though the show doesn't *air* for over a year, filming should be starting around, at the latest...oh...this coming July, right?
Still a while, yes, but not a year, and you know how Who fans are about finding out where they're filming. ;) Best to announce it before the cats out of the bag.
Patrick Stewart anyone? They did say they were thinking of offering a role lol. Of course THAT wouldn't happen, but it would be fantastic. He could blow the socks off the role, but he is too well known and would definitely ask for more money than even Tennant did lol. Well he could justify it at least (not saying Tennant couldn't but he could justify asking for more.)
ReplyDeleteAnd for spoofy/metajoke purposes he could tell the TARDIS to "engage" when taking off once then say that sounds stupid.
Even if they get the Legendary (well in my opinion at least :p) actor to appear for half a second as a totally unimportant role thaft'd be amazing.
I really can t wait the new doctor as the 11th doctor who will appear in series 5 this is will be so sweet the person would the play the 11th doctor.
ReplyDeletebut I not sure it person want to be the 11th doctor
sounds stupid but, doesn't morrisey seem a little... obvious?
ReplyDeletewe've known for ages he's in the special and it would all be too easy if it were him. they should surprise us!
wow, i almost understood doctor who fan there
ReplyDeleteWe don t know about What kind of age for person could play the 11th doctor in series 5 and beyond.
