Planet of the Dead press release

Woop!
We've got a time slot!... sorta.

The BBC Press Office has placed Planet of the Dead in their week 15 slot - which begins with Saturday 11th April. So only 2 weeks to wait!

Heres the synopsis that was given:
When a London bus takes a detour to an alien world, the Doctor must join forces with the extraordinary Lady Christina, in this one-off seasonal special. But the mysterious planet holds terrifying secrets, hidden in the sand. And time is running out, as the deadly Swarm gets closer.

Planet Of The Dead features David Tennant as the Doctor, Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina and Lee Evans as Malcolm and is written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts.

Yay!

  2. For a brief time, the statement said it was airing on Saturday 11th, but shortly afterwards that was changed to 'unplaced'. I'm guessing that the 11th is the air date, but they revealed that too soon and were quick to pull it down.

  3. If you follow this link
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2009/wk15/unplaced.shtml

It says at the top: Network TV BBC Week 15: Unplaced
And on the right hand side it says: BBC week 15 (11-17 Apr)

    Hope this helps :)

  4. I thought it was supposed to air on Easter Sunday? Or was "Easter" just a general time to give us an idea of when to expect it?

  5. I think it was just a general time..because at one point one article (a good one not The Sun) said that they weren't a 100% sure it would be shown even at Easter.. that it should be considered a spring special but then they seemed to have gone back to the whole Easter thing.

  10. Just seen the trailer!

Has anyone noticed how similar the plot is to the first of the Chronicles of riddick films. As they are stranded on an alien world and a deadly swarm of creatures begins to devour them also the first attack is at night. (Bus shown at night in trailer)

Also the Tritivore look really really lame. I mean its just a person with a bugs head. I like the flying mantis things better. They look really good even if they are copying Riddick in design!
