Moffat reveals details on next series cliffhanger
Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has revealed more details of the cliffhanger ending to the first half of the next series.
It was previously announced that the show's sixth run will be split in half, starting in spring 2011 and returning in the autumn.
"There will be a huge cliffhanger... that we wouldn't normally do at the end of a series of Doctor Who because it would be too long before it came back," Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine. "[It is] an enormous, game-changing cliffhanger for the Doctor, Amy and Rory. It will change everything for them."
Moffat promised that forthcoming episodes will contain revelations involving the Doctor's friendship with Amy Pond.
He teased: "You will see the Doctor's life change forever, you will gasp in astonishment at the true nature of his relationship with Amy and you will cry out in horror as Rory Williams stumbles to the brink of a tragic mistake."
Doctor Who will return to BBC One this Christmas.

Not really a spoiler, just more to ponder about...
ReplyDeleteHmmm... One wonders if Amy turns out to be River... nah, that would be cool, but why would she look and sound different? Rani!! Maybe, and Rory's mistake is opening the fob watch??
ReplyDeleteDamn you speculation!
doesn't really add much to what we already knew as I swear i read this before inthe first interview
ReplyDeletethanks anyway
some people don't like river song, i can understand why becuase she is very mysterious and etc. but maybe revealing her after 3 years (since we first saw her) could fix that problem.
ReplyDeleteRani, no i think she is more likely to be Romana
ReplyDeleteDr. Who is a show about monsters and timetravelling, NOT a riddle riddle show !. So Moffatt, what the hell are you doing ?????
ReplyDeleteClearly he's doing something right becasue we are all going crazy trying to figure out what will happen next season.
ReplyDeleteI for one really like River so I'm sort of bracing myself for what they are going to do with her. The Doctor can't have a wife (doesn't work for the show), yet it really looks to me like there is no other explination for who she is...so something is going to happen.
River herself said in Time Of Angels that "this is the Doctor we're talking about, do you honestly think it could be anything as simple as that?" when Amy asked if she was the Doctor's wife. Hopefully it gets interesting... Moffat better come up with something good, because we (the viewers) have all put heaps of time into speculating about the new series. I'm just saying, if its no good, it may put me off DW! please let Moffat make it good, I don't want that to happen!! no one would, lol.
