It seems that Doctor Who won't be properly returning in 2012, but possibly as a half-series, which would see the second half into 2013. Also, the 50th Anniversary 2013 series will have a special (of course.) It is mainly due to budgeting problems that this is the case, however, it could mean that we get a better budget for the next series, going back to the expensive effects in Series 1 - 4.

BBC are fools and idiots they will ruin this show if they keep jacking it around full season part season full season special season bunch of BS kinda sucks we'll have to wait and see what happens i doubt the money saved goes into the show anytime in the future

ReplyDeleteThis is stupid! Way to ruin the experience for the fans! You are going to loose fans that way. Look at all the US shows that went on hiatus during the writer's strike and never came back!
ReplyDeleteActually if you pick up a copy of this issue of Private eye there is an interesting column placing blame on an individual other than Moffat it also says Moffat apparently has been doing his best to 'paper of the cracks'

ReplyDeleteI think people should stop blaming Moffat for everything. Just because the BBC are making Doctor Who into different series and splitting it and what not (which I disagree with entirely) doesn't mean that you blame the only person you can think of. Moffat would surely be trying to get as many episodes as possible seeing as it is his show!

ReplyDeleteI have watched every episode ever filmed. Some are really good, some are horrible. I have some favorites. Starting with favorite Doctors, in order of regen: Patrick Troughton, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant, and now Matt Smith who is a bit of classic mixed in with the new. But the BBC don't seem to realize what they have: GOLD or PLATINUM. Doctor Who could be a veritable money tree for them if they stop blocking people from seeing the show. Did you know that they no longer syndicate the show in the US? HUGE number of fans who can't get their Doctor Who fix.
