Simm on Who

Just a small extract from a larger article about John Simm and his new role in The Devils Whore...

Simm has great affection for Life on Mars. He'd even consider doing a one-off special if the BBC were to ask him. Has the Beeb asked him to be Doctor Who? “I'm the Master. Simple as that. I don't want to be Doctor Who. I might be the Master again... I'm not allowed to say.”

I love when the actors say exactly what I've been trying to bludgeon into people's heads for weeks. :D

He can't be the Doctor. He's the Master. If he ever comes back it will be *as* the Master.

That's also the reason why Rose won't be the 11th/12th doctor (it depends on how you count it). The best thing is that the BBC, I apologize for being such imprecise, thinks, that the Doctor could have more lives than an average TimeLord. It's just the same way RTD made the doctor say that there hadn't been a "Human-Time Lord metacrisis" before... And that there can't be one!!! What about the Doctor himself? He's a human from the mother's side... Isn't he? Sometimes I wish scriptwriters (not Moffat, he is doing a great job) would use their brains a little bit more before they write their ideas down.

First off "Whoever" Doctor Who has been around so long that inconsistancies are bound to occur and can be written off as things changing over time. Second I believe that they will have more regenerations as it would be a STUPID thing to kill the show off at 13 Doctors. Furthermore The Master is strong evidence that it is possible, as he had 13 lives and then some before being given new regenerations. As for the Half human on his (the Doctor's) mother's side... I say no, no he isn't and writing it into the new series gives it more accountability than the old (as the old series were less controlled, they called Daleks Robots in one serial).

StormWolf it HAS been done before and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. A past character being a future Doctor. However I doubt it would be John Sims - as he was The Master and too recognisable, at this point.

Yep, I know it would be stupid if they stop the show after 12 regenerations, but it was inconsequent to continue it. Well, maybe they'll find an amazing way to break this rule.
Well, for the half-human-thing: I have no problem with any kind of ignoring an earlier statement when there is some room for interpretations. But right now there is nothing left. OK, he isn't half human. I don't mind, but what about the movie (1996)? What has changed since then? I think only the scriptwriter... (I never liked the idea of a half-human Doctor myself, but I don't get it, why are they playing with these facts?)

When i watch Doctor who movie 1996 on youtube I heard the doctor said I m half human but he is not really half human he is time lord.

Donna noble is not really half human half time lord Either so the master is not half human.
