From The Archive: The Runaway Bride

Here's a lovely trip back to 2006... and David Tennant's behind-the-scenes footage of The Runaway Bride.

From The Archive: The Hand of Fear

With Elisabeth Sladen's unfortunate passing earlier this year, and the final episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures airing soon, it is only fitting to look back at some of her high points. This particular episode marked her last in the classic series (not counting her return in the special, The Five Doctors). Elisabeth portrayed Sarah Jane beautifully in this episode, which one of the reasons why it is always seen as a must-watch Classic Who episode.

Enjoy!

From The Archive: That bin there!

It was a shocking moment and certainly a VERY clever idea by Russell T Davies, executed perfectly.

Oh to be in 2008 again (!)

From The Archive: Are you my mummy?

Steven Moffat's début episode in NuWho was, without doubt, one of the best and scariest ever. It won a Hugo Award in 2006 and also ended up being ranked as the 5th best Doctor Who episode ever in Doctor Who Magazine's recent mega-poll.

This particular clip still gives us chills!

From The Archive: Towing The Earth!

Oh who cares about the physical inaccuracies in towing Earth through space! This is one of the loveliest scenes from Series 4, a true fan's paradise, where companions past and present come together to save Earth!

Sidenote: This should have been David Tennant's last episode (!)

From The Archive: I'll see you again, mister!

Martha's reception was a mixed one, especially having arrived after the departure of the country's favourite, Rose. She did, however, quickly come to show how intelligent and independent she was, being one of the very few companions to decide to leave the Doctor. This tearjerking clip shows her choosing her family over the Doctor and encompassing a strong will whilst doing so.

From The Archive: The Five Doctors

Check out this classic clip from Classic Who, where the five Doctors and their respective companions meet up.

Even watching this retrospectively made me excited to see the Doctors and companions meeting up! I hope they do a similar thing with the 50th Anniversary special... Grace, Rose, Donna and Amy maybe?

From The Archive: Her name was Rose...

An absolutely beautiful scene between Catherine Tate and David Tennant, taken from The Runaway Bride, which set the pair up for many adventures in the future, both on screen and on stage! In a poignant ending to the chaotic episode, the Doctor addresses the loss of Rose, and holding back his tears, closes the door...

The scene also showed Catherine's wide range of talent, ranging from the screaming hyperbole to a mellow nod to the future. I absolutely love this episode for exactly that: the two emotions which played off each other throughout.

Monday, June 6

From The Archive: Bad Wolf

Arguably one of the finest moments in Doctor Who, where Rose becomes Bad Wolf, destroys the Daleks and saves the day!

Thursday, February 24

From The Archive: Am I Bovvered?

It's David Tennant and Catherine Tate in a special Doctor Who-themed skit for Comic Relief.

Clip of the Week: Caramelldansen

Not really a clip, but I had to put it up here!

The Doctor Who version of Caramelldansen :D

Clip of the Week: Curse of the Fatal Death

Well not a clip exactly, more like a whole episode. This extra-funny 'episode' was broadcast years ago for Red Nose Day, starring Rowan Atkinson (amongst others) as the Doctor and Jonathan Pryce as the Master. This special was also notable for creating the 'female Doctor' rumours (rumours that Joanna Lumley was going to become the Doctor).

Check out the first part here... or y'know the whole thing here!

Clip of the Week: Beating out a Samba!

Just for laughs - check out David's camp acting. I bet he gets embarrassed watching this back!

Clip of the Week: Hello, there!

We go Classic this week, as we take a look at one of the most praised Doctor Who serials ever. It's City of Death, written by the wonderful Douglas Adams. This particular clip perfectly shows off his witty writing... seriously, buy the DVD if you haven't already. It's iconic.

Clip of the Week: Whoopsie, David!

David Tennant manages to put the papers back on the stand perfectly, whilst filming Music of the Spheres. Yeah, right :D
