  • The Doctor appears to look like a white, Caucasian male.
  • He has a binary vascular system - two hearts,
  • A respiratory bypass system - meaning he can go for a while without oxygen,
  • And an internal body temperature of 15–16 degrees Celsius.
  • He is quick to heal,
  • Shows heightened levels of stamina,
  • High levels of pain intolerance,
  • And also has to ability to survive where others would not, such as being directly hit by a lightning bolt.

  • The Doctor is incredibly intelligent, and he knows it.
  • He has shown amazing mathematical ability.
  • And knows almost the entire history of Earth.

  • And details on every life form that has ever existed, though he can not always identify them straight away.
  • Because of his brilliant mind, there has been occasions in which enemies have sought to either control him, or steal his memories and acquire his intelligence for themselves.
  • The speed at which his mind works is more clearly seen in the tenth Doctor, as he often lapses into long and complicated sentences of 'techno-babble'
"Rose: That thing, is it trapped for good on video?
The Doctor: That's right. But just to be on the safe side though, I'll use my unrivaled knowledge of trans-temporal extrapolation methods to neutralize the residual electronic pattern.
Rose
: You'll what?
The Doctor
: I'm gonna tape over it."

Psychic Ability:
  • He has a low level of psychic ability.
  • Is able to enter others minds and read peoples thoughts.

Family:
  • The first Doctor traveled with his granddaughter,
  • The second Doctor mentions that his memories of his family are still alive (though he never says that they are dead.)
  • The eight Doctor recalls experiencing a 'beautiful Gallifreyan night' with his father.
  • By the time of the ninth Doctor, the Time War has occurred and it is assumed that all of The Doctor's family are now dead.
  • The tenth Doctor is noted say that he used to have a brother - Which in some accounts is believed to be Braxiatel
Life:
  • Little is known of The Doctor's childhood, other than it was a lonely one.
  • When he was on Gallifrey, he was often known as Theata Sigma - which was a sort of nickname.
  • When at the Academy, he was part of a group of young rebellious Time Lords, known as the Deca.
  • He was not contented with living by the Time Lord code of remaining on Gallifrey, and never interfering with any other race - So he stole a TARDIS from a docking bay where it was being dismantled for scrap.
  • Since then he has traveled through time and space most often with 'assistances' or 'companions.'
  • He was elected as the 407th President of Gallifrey, although he did not want the job and instead opted to travel once again, leaving Gallifrey in his tutor Borusa's hands. Although he returned briefly to take up his presidency in order to defeat the Vardins and Sontarans, he departed soon after, again leaving Gallifrey to Borusa.

we dont know the doctors exact age.
wikipeidia has this to say:
In "Voyage of the Damned" the Tenth Doctor states that he is 903 years old. This contradicts previous statements about the Doctor's age, as the Seventh Doctor states his age as 953 in the episode Time and the Rani, though follows the idea, started by the Second Doctor in The Tomb of the Cybermen, that the Doctor isn't very good at keeping track of how old he is.

yea maybe its in gallifrey years which could be something completely different to our years. what year was the doctor born in? is it future or past or what? do timelords have a 'present' time?

erm... in 'fear her' he mentions that he was a father once

and in series 4 episode 6 it says that he has a genetic daughter or something

Jenny from S04E06 isn't the Doctor's real daughter. She's just a Time Lady created from stolen samples of his DNA.

I LOVE this page. It's brilliant! But if I could make one suggestion, maybe you could put a list of random facts about him. Like, the fact that he likes bananas. Just a suggestion!

Hi! Just looked at the updated FAQ on the BBC website.

Found this:

Is the Doctor half-Human?
Yes, on his mum's side. It was established in the Doctor Who TV Movie; however purists tend to disregard this.

So it looks like New Who definitely regards this as canon. Good to know, they ought to do more with it. Except I suppose purists would have a conniption.

I read an article from '05/'06 from RTD/BBC that they weren't sticking to everything from the Classic Series. That it would be a continuation as far as it going to the ninth doc and many thing would be familiar but that somethings would not be the same. So I wasn't all that surprised when his age had been reduced. I had actually been wondering if when he said he was 900 to Rose if he was being accurate or just rounding off or lying. As he has lied about his age in the Classic Series a few times as well.
As far as the cross goes..being born a cross is much different then being made one like Donna. But I personally don't see the Doc as being a cross since he has made no allusions to it in the new series.BBC website should go with the facts laid before the movie as far as him being Human ..but oh well.

The doctor had famliy but they died in time war that daleks destroy gallifrey oh dear the doctor is 900 years old but he may be 1000 years old

Technically, the Ninth Doctor didn't say he was 900 years old, at first. He said "900 years of phone box travel..." Which means, if you go with the calculations from the original series (subtracting the age Romana gave the Doctor and the number of years she said he'd been traveling and then adding 9's 900 years of travel) that the Doctor is at least 1135 years old. :D

As far as I remember the Doctor talks about 900 years of phone box travel, Rose goes '900?!?!' and the Doctor says something about thats how old he is.

Besides, we can forget Voyage of the Damned when he claims he's 903

But yes, in true cannon then the Doctor is much older than that :)

anyone calling a female timelord a "time lady" should be disregarded as the term time lord is a group. also if you look at the wikipedia page on the rani she is described as a time lord

Perhaps his age is backwards, so in 900 odd years time is when he is due to die.
But, he never ages what counter acts this argument
