Talking about the visit Karen said “I’m so excited to be travelling up to Scotland to introduce fans to my new Amy Pond action figure, I can’t wait to meet everyone”
Karen who plays Amy Pond, companion to the Eleventh Doctor will be signing copies of her action figure from 12 noon to 2pm at Hamleys flagship store in Glasgow. From 9am fans will be able to collect a wrist band from the store to ensure their place in the queue.

The event was unfortunately a complete farce, very badly handled by Hamleys (certainly not by the BBC, Character Options or Miss Gillan's agents). Many fans were turned away after the toy shop completely messed up on how to dish out wrist bands, which you had to queue up for in order to again queue up to see Karen. Amongst thoise I spoke to turned asway were couples from Newcastle, Liverpool, and one family from Belfast which had travelled overnight for the session. Not even an apology from Hamleys - the Herald covered it at http://tinyurl.com/372vva2 - hopefully Forbidden Planet will get the gig next time - never been to an event of theirs that wasn't handled in any way other than brilliantly.
