Episode 1

At the moment, we only have very early set reports for series 5. Of course I have no idea which filming is for which episode, or even if they're the same episode or not... But I like organising things and so they shall be organised!

Episode Location: Earth
Aliens/Enemies: Unknown
New Characters: The Doctor, Amy Pond,
Gadgets Used: Unknown
Episode Objective: Unknown

Filming
At the moment I have no idea what order these come in, I'm just listing them in the order they were filmed.

29.09.09
Filming went on inside a private house on Llandaff Green. There wasn't much to see at all, but there were some lights at the window.

Smithy, Karen Gillan, were on set as well as Tracie Simpson which suggests that they're filming block 3 at the moment. As well as this, guest star Annette Crosbie was on set.

But the most exciting bit of all is that although Smithy was covered in a lovely maroon dressing gown, we can see a glimpse of converse shoe and brown pinstripe trousers! It seems hes wearing Tennant's Doctor outfit! Which also means this is probably the first episode!

And if this is the first episode then perhaps Annette is playing Amy's grandmother?

01.1o.09
Filming took place in a village called Rhymney, in the cemetry of the old vicarage. Not much could be seen but they filmed a scene with Karen at night.

02.10.09
There was crew setting up at Cathedral Green today. A big pond was created in the centre and Newspaper signs indicate its set in the 1990s, and apparently in a place called Leadworth.

A huge thanks to alun.vega, Scooty, baraduim, Jonathan Hendry, ANobleToaster, Lucky Lady, 76 Totters Land and everyone else who reported! Sorry if I missed anyone out :)

Wedding Bells are ringing for Sarah Jane

Digital Spy have lovely-ly reported on the upcoming new series of SJA, and most importantly, her wedding!

As you all know, David Tennant is to star in the epic story. Check out these awesome snaps!

Overall story summary: "Sarah Jane has met Peter Dalton (Nigel Havers - Mac.) and wants him to become part of her life; to become a father to Luke perhaps. But Clyde thinks Peter is hiding a secret or two of his own(Nigel Havers said in an interview that he "plays an alien." - Mac.), especially when he and Rani find an empty house where Peter says his home should be..."

Part one summary: "The Doctor returns on the happiest day of Sarah Jane's life - but a deadly trap is waiting for them all! As the strands of a clever and careful plan draw together, can even a Time Lord save Sarah Jane, on the day of her arch-enemy's greatest triumph?"

Part two summary: "The Doctor joins the battle - but is it too late to save both Sarah Jane and the Earth itself? As the power of the Pantheon of Discord grows in strength, the old friends are separated across different time zones, and must fight to save each other - but for one, there's a terrible price to pay."

Plus, Digital Spy had an interview with Elisabeth Sladen.

You've got K-9 back in a larger capacity this series. How does he assist the team?
"Yes - we see more of him. He's out of the black hole and we can use him for what he can do for us - he can sense things, he can shoot at things and he can do mathematical things. There's a nice jealousy between him and Mr. Smith because they're on the same mechanical level. He is actually useful instead of trundling along - the kids can phone him and you can ask him to use his doggy brain!

The lovely Cameron at Blogtor Who also posted a trailer! For Prisoner of the Judoon! New clips and everything!!

Thanks to Cameron very much for these goodies!

Dreamland meets SJA

The SFX Magazine have reported on something which will tingle your alien tastebuds.

The Sarah Jane Adventures is to crossover with the new animation Dreamland, as told by Phil Ford at the latest SJA advanced screening in Soho. From the article:

As for "Prisoner Of The Judoon" itself: a fantastic romp, which joyously pokes fun at the Judoons' jobsworth attitude and has a bizarre performance from Lis Sladen that needs to be seen to be believed. It's all very silly, but loveably so, with some great, laugh-out-loud one-liners and some pretty decent effects - the kids in the audience loved the baddie alien's lizard tongue. The main problem with it are Rani's comedy parents (the modern-day Meekers from Rentaghost) , who have far too much screen time and get in the way of the action. They're fine as background support characters, but you really don't want them in the main action.

And what of this crossover? Have SFX caught onto something?

Something did flash upon Mr Smith's screen at one point, though, that we reckon it might be worth pausing on if you get the chance - though maybe it was nothing, so don't get too excited. It was hard to tell at a screening where you only get a glimpse... it just looked like it was something begging to be paused on...

Sarah Jane's Back and Bad

Edited 25/Sept
No, really.

(L-R) Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah, Anjli Mohindra as Rani, Daniel Anthony as Clyde and Tommy Knight as Luke

The BBC released a Press Release (which is why they're called press releases; because they're released as press releases), containing information on the new series of SJA!

Aside from all the norm, the PO tells us some very exciting stuff about the first episode - Prisoner of the Judoon:

In the first of this two-part adventure, Sarah Jane and the gang face the most dangerous day of their lives, as the rhino-like Judoon return. When prisoner Androvax the Destroyer crash-lands on Earth, a Veil is set free and starts to turn Earth's technology against itself. And his next intended victim is Sarah Jane.

And part 2?

As the Judoon fleet approaches Earth, it's a race against time to stop Androvax. But with Genetech's technology on the rampage, and Rani's parents taken prisoner, can anything stop the Army of the Infinitesimal?

(Now you understand what I meant about being bad?)

The release also gives us a taster of what's to come:

The series also features an extraterrestrial girl who can make people play games against their will; a living painting; the inhabitants of a supposedly haunted house; and monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed. Finally, there is a chance for Sarah Jane to find personal happiness with someone who could be the perfect person to complete her family.

You can catch SJA on Thursdays and Fridays at 4:35pm on BBC One!

Edit:
Thanks to Anthony from Sarah-Jane.tv , we now have some news on the rest of the series. This interview with Lis Sladen comes from the latest SFX magazine:

Episodes one and two
“Prisoner Of The Judoon” by Phil Ford.

“I love one and two, because I’m evil Sarah Jane, and I absolutely relished it – it’s great! I said to Phil Ford, ‘Why did you think I could do that?’ and he said, ‘It’s something you did or said last year’, so I thought ‘Oh… They do listen!”

Episodes three and four
“The Mad Woman In The Attic” by Joseph Lidster

“Three and four my husband [Brian Miller] is in, which is brilliant. That was in the rain on Barry Island. If you’ve ever been on Barry Island, with or without rain, you would remember it. I got a chest infection on Barry Island! You look at it and you don’t see the terrible weather we had - it was a nightmare for poor Alice [Troughton, the director], it really was. And for the lighting guy. And of course this year we’re in HD for the first time. It’s a different kind of look and it looks so expensive – it’s wonderful, I’m so thrilled with it.”

Episodes five and six
“The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith” by Gareth Roberts

“A great story. It’s by my lovely Gareth – he’s lovely because he knows Sarah so well, he knows Doctor Who so well. He puts little things in sometimes, where I look up from a read-through and maybe only he and I and Russell and someone else will spot them! It’s really nice to have those little moments.”

Episodes seven and eight
“The Eternity Trap” by Phil Ford

“The haunted house one is incredibly scary - I mean I even screech in it when something happens! Danny [Anthony, who plays Clyde] went to the loo and he wouldn’t look in the mirror - when he came back out from washing his hands, he flew out!”

News & Things

Hmm, well there've been no set reports for a while now and things seem a little slow. But not for much longer! Things are picking up come October time :)

The Day of the Troll (Oct 8th)
A new audio adventure starring the 10th Doctor (and read by him!)

When the Doctor arrives on Earth in the far future, he is horrified to find the planet beset by famine and starvation. England is a barren wasteland, and scientists are desperately seeding the ground to make the crops grow again. But now it seems that something even worse is happening.

Karl Baring, the owner of research facility The Grange, has been snatched away in the middle of the night. His sister Katy was with him when he vanished, but is now in catatonic shock – so it is up to the Doctor, with the help of the scientists at The Grange, to investigate.

What is lurking under the old bridge, and why is it preying on people? The Doctor must find out, before it strikes again...

SJA (Oct 15th)
As was posted by Mac, the first episode of the 3rd series, Prisoner of the Judoon, will be coming very soon!

UPDATE:
I've now completed (to the best of my ability) a Sarah Jane series 3 section. Feel free to browse it here!

Dreamland (Oct)
There was a new interview with RTD and Julie Gardner released today. Exciting stuff!

Check out other interviews on PGtv

And according to BlogtorWho, Dreamland is set to air in the latter half of October! Although no date has been revealed as of yet.

Plus, as was stated by Gary Russell in a podcast, Dreamland is set between the Waters of Mars and the christmas specials.

Waters of Mars (Oct/Nov)
According to Phil Ford, the Waters Of Mars will be the darkest story ever in the show's history with both the story and the Doctor being terrifying.

He also apparently said it would either air in October or November. But if Dreamland is set to come after it, and Dreamland airing in October, then surely Waters of Mars has to come earlier than it!

Did that make any sense at all?
