Planet Gallifrey: Superifick!

Superifick!

Well! The Sontaran Stratagem has aired, and the return of the Sontarans and Martha Jones has hit our screens. Hooray!

Obviously ATMOS got a mention since the episode revolved around it! But despite large amounts of speculation, there were no bees mentioned at all... maybe they'll appear in the next episode?

This episode can now be seen on on youtube here, or here

We also had mention of:

  • The Medusa Cascade
  • The Time War

A brilliant and exciting episode for our first two-parter!

Don't forget the Shadow Proclemation!
Who knows they may pop-up again :D

YAY!

By the way it's losing not loosing. ;)

But YAY!!! Martha!

That episode was great, and I wonder what this thing is about the repeated mentioning of the Medusa Cascade. I love this site!

was shadow proclamation mentioned?

Jess said...

No, Sanders suggestion was for before the episode aired.

This was a great episode, and the trailer for next week looks fantastic. I wonder what the "something else" is that the Sontarans need...

high heels?

Combom said...

sontarans are back to 3 fingers from 5! (ok 2/4 and a thumb)

all are the same height for a change!

It is rumored the Doctor will have to choose between Martha and Donna, possibly who lives and who dies, after seeing we have a Martha clone now, this is how it may happen!

I saw in a TV guide that Martha was back for 5 episodes. And we also know that Donna is back for the series. Maybe he doesn't have to choose.

Anonymous said...

no he probably has to kill the clone, or thinks hes killing martha but its the clone

three things

1. What's this about sontarans being allegic to bees... interesting...
2. Can't wait to see the Doctor's Daughter...gonna be a rave!!!
3. Seriously I am the only person that noticed russel t davies commented on the episode twelve page!? Or is it a weirdo who pretends to be him

Actually I just remembered one more thing Sally Sparrow should be the companion 4 series 5 +the specials!!!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, Sally would be a great companion!
No wait, it should be both her and Larry! Oh, the comedy!

Waiting patiently for the episode Jess, I love this site!

Question - which three turned out to be red herrings? We all thought the Ood/Adipose one was wrong, but then Donna had all those flashbacks, so I'd assume that counts... what am I missing?

Everyone did a great job with the fear forecast, by the way. :)

Anonymous said...

If the flashback counts, the only red herring was the Rose clone

James said...

that was a god episode, can't wait for next week. Except what the heck accent did that kid have?

n.t. said...

Wasn't this also a red herring, though?

"When The Doctor first reunites with Martha and learns that she is now a Doctor, he sings the chorus from the song 'Dr Jones' by Aqua to her. She is not impressed and calls him 'Mr Cheese'."

(Which leaves me at two.)

It was a really good episode, and I think the writer redeemed herself from last year's really weak Dalek two-parter. The Sontarans never seemed a very interesting enemy before -- in my biased view -- but I think this episode has breathed new life into them. My only complaint: What about the Rutons? Do they fit in to the invasion of earth? Maybe that will be in next week's episode.

Anonymous said...

i loved his accent! kinda american-englishy

Anonymous said...

Where is today's new word, ending in "ness"?

Combom said...

> Anonymous Whats this about sontarans being allegic to bees.

i must have missed this bit, if they are its why they are going missing and im right :)

Combom said...

solved it - as i speculated a week ago, sontarans are allergic to bee stings...

in the PC game Destiny of the Doctors (1997) from BBC Multimedia, Sontarans can be defeated by firing the angry occupants of a beehive at them.

Anonymous said...

well that explains it then, the sontarans are destroying the bees

I don't know if this is just me being geeky but what's with all the random and not so random red objects? They're everywhere you look in this series. The opening scene in the first episode had Donna holding a red file. Then the girl in the bathroom had a random red towel. There are loads more but too many to mention here. Is the colour red and the dustbins (they are everywhere too) relevent to the story or is it just me who's seeing things that have no importance?
BTW, did anyone spot the (what looks to be) drawing of a red wolf on the wall when Martha and the Doc meets?

Combom said...

RED is supposed to be important in this series, rose is comi9ng back and she was bad wolf, so that possibly explains it, Doctor Who seems to have more graffiti than the real world though doesnt it? the emperor dalek we are to meet is supposedto be red too.

Anonymous said...

I didn't know half of that Combo, thanks for the information. You're right, there's too much graffiti in this series. I wish they'd cut it out as it's making my head explode!

Combom said...

prob a lot of clues in the graffiti though, but you have to read is all :(

Anonymous said...

there was also a guy walking behind donna weraring red who really didnt need to be there and seemed really obvious in PiC

Sander said...

Wee Vixen do you meant his one?

Good spotting...

There appears to be something red in just about every scene.
Yes Sander, that's the scene which I'm talking about.Incidently, I just watched the first episode of Torchwood series 2 and opening scene begins with a red traffic light. Significant do you think?

Combom said...

> red in just about every scene...

it is a primary colour, so you can prob find green and blue too, and black :)

Anonymous said...

You're right Combo. I'll shut up now before I send everyone loopy with my ramblings ;-)

has anyone noticed at 1 minute and nine seconds of the sontaram statagem there is a tv showing the tardis flying through the vortex?

Combom said...

its a computer monitor not tv, it looks like a screensaver, no tardis on it, but i see why you make the link!

Anonymous said...

Hm, I hope the nasty Rattigan kid will get what's coming to him, and not one of those 'I forgive you'!
I suppose we can find out later that he was a clone too, but probably not.

Anonymous said...

I THINK HE'S COOL! whoops caps lock on lol

Combom said...

ever thought Rattigan kid = the master, with his ID in the watch (like the Doctor in last season).

the bee/sontaran issue explained here > http://lifetheuniverseandcombom.blogspot.com/

here, '15th broken moon of the medusa cascade' does that make it a planet, if its got moons?

Anonymous said...

Graffiti watchers should probably pay particular attention to the stenciled creature on the wall in the alley where the TARDIS lands.

Re the rubbish sacks - this goes back to atleast the Last of the Time Lords. The streets in the alternate reality were littered with red rubbish sacks.

if dalek ships survie in the time war(but not in the parting of the Ways) then why has not be destroyed
