Doctor Who Filming, Tredegar House

Took place over three days or so, mostly inside...
But definitely the most exciting news is this:

WHOOO!! WILF!!

So with Wilf back, goodness knows the other possibilities! Even if Donna doesn't appear, there'll probably be a mention of her :)

Anyway, on to filming:
From what can be made out, the events happening in Tredegar House is some sort of formal occasion (I've heard wedding quite a few times) and there are guards in camo gear wandering around patrolling the building.

As for whats going on inside... got no idea! Since they were filming for three days, it must be something quite extensive. There was a butler seen going in the house as well.

The only thing of interest that was heard by the intrepid DWF set reporters was that someone inside was "tied to a chair"

There were some scenes filmed outside however.

All the guests of the house run outside, screaming in a panic. One of them (who we know is called Joshua) falls to his knees on the grass and looks up at the sky in shock.

The woman who is with him (called Abigail) stands with him for a moment, but when he doesn't respond she also runs away.

These scenes were also caught on film:

As you can see in one of the videos, some of the people running out of the house are wearing what looks like white scientist coats - so I wonder whats going on in there!

As well as this there was a short scene filmed inside the stables:

The same ones that were used in The Next Doctor

People were seen moving hay into the stables but the actual scene was inside. At the end of it the Doctor and Wilf run outside looking anxious.

Ugh! RTD can't leave soon enough! "Can't ever come back" should mean something....

My favourite recurring character who isn't a companion is back?
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

hey jess,

do you think they tied someone to a chair, as bait to catch something. ( the thing in the sky? )

I take it this is for another special this year not the one at easter?

Yes, this is for the final 2-parter special where we'll see Tennant's Doctor regenerate

The man playing Joshua looks like David Harewood who is now Tuck on Robin Hood. I know that he said on the radio that he was going to be in Doctor Who.

When did he say that Wilf can't ever come back? That's the only returning character I see in those pictures.

Hmm, perhaps it's a Doctor tied to a chair? :) It could happen, he was cuffed in 'Planet of the Ood'.
But wedding with lab experiments going on? Someone surely is not doing it traditional way!

So happy that Wilf is returning: love him, love him!

LOL I'd say.. I doubt its a wedding personally. I mean lab coats, guys w/ guns at a wedding sounds a bit odd. Oh as far as this John Simm returning as the Master rumour goes.. according to IMDB he is currently filming a movie called SevenDays. so unless he is squeezing a bit of time in at the Who set or he is filming secretly some where with all indoor scenes I just don't see him as being in this. Time will tell i suppose..

I was wondering, is this the same episode the pics in the bookstore were from. (Y'know the one with "A journal of impossible things")?

Jess said...

The final episodes are a 2-parter, so it might not be the same epiosde but its the same storyline.

Sander said...

Ah, if that's the case then I think we'll have an episode where everything of the 10th Doctor comes together, (his journal, Donna, who knows what else?)

Just a theory, but that would give DT quite a goodbye.

in my opinion, i reckon the things in the sky could quite possibly be daleks? for example daleks in manhatten. or it could be a some sort of alien ship. just a suggestion :). really glad that wilf is back, i wonder what weapon he'll have this time to beat off the akliens :P

They need to bring back his paint gun! I am quiet curious to see how his Journal ties into all this. I wonder if he runs into Wilf..
