I just thought I'd draw your attention to another hilarious article by The Sun where they saw a speculated discussion on something and decided to make it absolute, set-in-stone fact.
As far as I know, there's absolutely no truth in this.
Who’s off to do U.S. film deal?
DOCTOR Who boss Russell T Davies is heading to Hollywood, fuelling fresh rumours of a movie spin-off.
Russell, who is behind the show’s hit rebirth, is refusing to reveal why he is heading Stateside.
But insiders claim he is hoping to crack the film market — with a Doctor Who movie his first project.
His agent listed the movie as part of Russ’s credits on his web profile, but took it down after net geeks rumbled it.
A source said: “He is secretive about Doctor Who. Let's hope the rumours are right.”

ah there do have a good imaingation :)
they got it from dwf and dwo which got this ages ago.
I know these are just rumors and that this stuff was circulating ages ago, buuuuuuuuut . . . . what if there's actually some truth in this?
I mean, it's been rumored for a long time, long enough that even the Sun would have picked up on it and reported it long before now. In all reality it's 99% absolutely false, but can't we have hope that it's 1% true and we'll have another, better Who movie?
you never know.
remember the rumours about filming part of the specials in the states?
it never happend.
but maybe it was not for the specials... maybe it was preparing the prieveiw stuff for potential backers.
Net geeks indeed.
The Sun really is a piece of garbage, isn't it?
I'm calling bullshit on this one.
RTD wouldn't be involved in it even it was true!
Well I am keeping an open mind. Here is a link to a cached page from his agents site before it was changed
http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:QEwUVOhx7isJ:www.theagency.co.uk/clients/clientdisplay.html%3FviewListing%3DMTQ1+the+agency+russell+t+davies&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk
Could be a bad hack on the top listing but then.....
And of course if you can believe wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Hopkins_(director)
I had heard Hopkins could be directing episode 1 of S5 - this might be the confusion.
No Hollywood film studio is going to greenlight or fund what is obstensibly a British children's show. A show, mind you, which was also a total ratings failure in America, pulling in 'barely' a million viewers a week. Those are woeful numbers for any show. There will be no Who film, at least from America.
Maybe the Sun was onto something!
"Meanwhile, Doctor Who may be heading for the big screen after a spokeswoman for BBC Films confirmed that "a script is in development".
