Planet Gallifrey: Who's that Girl?

Who's that Girl?

Well, now we know who Smithy will be cavorting through time and space with in series 5!
From the BBC

Little-known actress Karen Gillan has been unveiled as the next assistant in Doctor Who. The 21-year-old will star alongside new Time Lord Matt Smith in the new series, to be broadcast next year.

Gillan has already appeared in the drama, having played a Soothsayer in The Fires Of Pompeii in the last run.

"I am absolutely over the moon at being chosen to play the Doctor's new companion. - I just can't wait to get started," she said. "The show is such a massive phenomenon that I can't quite believe I am going to be a part of it. Matt Smith is an incredible actor and it is going to be so much fun to act alongside him."

Head of Drama, BBC Wales, Piers Wenger said she brings "energy and excitement" to the role. "When she auditioned alongside Matt we knew we had something special," he said.

Writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said they saw some "amazing actresses" but Gillan "walked through the door the game was up". He described her as "funny, and clever, and gorgeous, and sexy. Or Scottish, which is the quick way of saying it".

"A generation of little girls will want to be her. And a generation of little boys will want them to be her too," he added.

Gillan, from Inverness, developed a love for acting after attending several youth theatre groups and taking part in various school productions. At the age of 16, she decided to pursue her career further and left school to study acting at Edinburgh's Telford College.

She went on to secure a place at the Italia Conti drama school in London and landed her first role in the Scottish drama Rebus. Parts in Channel 4's Stacked, The Kevin Bishop Show and James Nesbitt's forthcoming film Outcast followed, but the role in Doctor Who is her first high profile to date.

It would be nice if they had given the companion's name aswell. Well it would be, unless they haven't thought of a name for her yet

Anonymous said...

I understand the new companion's name is likely to be "Jenny" - make of that what you will!

Anonymous said...

I kinda thought 'Mary' when I saw her... maybe because she reminds me a bit of Rogue in X-Men.

While I realize we already wandered down a weird path with the Doctor when Tennant took over, I hope the writers will realize how creepy it is for a 900-year-old dude to be macking on a barely legal chicklet...even if he does have the face of a barely legal dorklet. :)

I miss Martha already. No offense Gillan, but I think I may need some time to mourn the loss of my favorite characters.

GOOD :D ginger, lovin' it. we needed one of them.

lol "scottish, that's the short way of saying it". i love that guy.

i think she'll be great, the show is gonna change so much tho.

sad it's not sally sparrow tho.

woah. that was unexpected!

I think she is going to be AMAZING! I think though...that Doctor Who is getting very very young!

She seems slightly mysterious...could she be Professor River Song? Yet just younger?

Anonymous said...

Good choise! :-)
After Donna, another ginger- AWESOME! TOTALLY AWESOME!

Anonymous said...

Fantastic!

Anonymous said...

LOL Solonor. I am not bothered by the 900yr old liking someone younger but I do hope that the new companion doesn't have the crush on him. It was nice that Donna didn't. Did love however that she had a thing for Jack..

But seriously I think Karen will be fine but I am soo not into all these changes either.

I like the outfit. Very casual. Though it makes me suspect that she might be the first lesbian companion since Ace.

I liked her in 'Fires of Pompeii', so I'm glad. It's also nice that they're giving a chance to a little-known actress, the same way they did with Martha, who was Odiola first.

And yay for ginger! :)
Wohoo! More, more news!

(I'm still dancing with joy about Hamlet DVD, even though I saw it live!)

River Song? She has the right hair.

Jenny Smith, regenerated? Hey, at least we wouldn't have to worry about her and Doc11 hooking up. lol

It's been stated somewhere that those photos are not her costume, that all still needs to be revealed. Which questions what's so important about it?

Anonymous said...

She looks good, but I will have to see her on screen I think before I say too much about her.
I wish they had given the characters name too, unless they havent decided, she looks like a Hayley or something like that to me.
Ginger!

River Song: Curly brown hair
This girl: Bone straight red hair

Color me confused.

SO... Doctor Who now goes from being a Classic Sci-Fi TV series with Adult Actors to a sitcom on the Disney Channel!!! Give me a break. This pair will turn off the original fans big time from the series. And Ace wasn't gay.

Anonymous said...

i think everyone should stop arguing! yes she's young and so is Matt Smith but change is normally good. Also when catherina Tate played the role everyone judged her before an episode had been transmitted. I personally don't care about her hair as it's not important! but as people said she'll probably have a specified look for the character.

Joy said...

I suspect she's playing a historical character (there were rumors a few months ago about a Celt), not a contemporary one, so tht might be why they're hiding her costume for now.

StormWolf said...

>>SO... Doctor Who now goes from being a Classic Sci-Fi TV series with Adult Actors to a sitcom on the Disney Channel!!! Give me a break. This pair will turn off the original fans big time from the series. And Ace wasn't gay.<<

Actually, she's older than a good chunk of the Classic companions.

Jackie Lane (Dodo) was 19, Deborah Watling (Victoria) was 19, Matthew Waterhouse (Adric) was 19, Wendy Padbury (Zoe) was 21 which is the exact same age as the new girl, and Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) was 20.

I won't list anymore, but there are also a good number of them who were almost as young as her. In fact, the only companions that weren't played by people in 20's was Ian, Barbara, Harry, Jack and Donna. And even then, only John Barrowman and Catherine Tate have been in their late 30's.

Really, her age means nothing. It's all in the acting ability. If she can pull it off, then her age doesn't matter one bit.

Anonymous said...

Ehm... she is 21. Billie Piper played as Rose a 19-year-old at the beginning... Where is the problem exactly?

Sageeth said...

Whoah *whistles* now that's a companion I could see myself really showing an interest in! Now I hope they give her a good personality to top it off.

I hate to see Tennant go even if it is his time but I think I now am oddly eager to see him leave :P.

I'm surprised nobody has said a de-aged or something like that Donna (not that I personally think or want that, even if Donna was the best companion yet).

If she does prove to be a historically based Celtic that would be awesome in some ways. Bit like when they had Leela around, though very different at the same time lol. (Also I am aware that Leela was not from the past)

Also yes I AM a ginger haired individual myself.

what do i think of her?

H-O-T S-T-U-F-F

Dr. Who is about to get A LOT more sexier! XD

I don't think there's any significance to her costume not being revealed yet - just like with Tennant and Smith, Tate and so on, none of them had their costumes finalised when they were announced as companions. There's no secret - the costume just hasn't been picked yet. Of course, there may, in fact, be some significance to the costume. But nothing here is any different to the announcement of other Doctors or companions in the new series.

I'm also hoping there won't be a romance angle - more of a "dynamic duo" aesthetic where they rove around time and space having adventures. There'll be plenty of opportunity for romance there. Also, as noted, Smith and Gillan are only just younger than previous Doctors and companions. In fact, I don't think anyone's even said she's the youngest companion. She could be. But it doesn't matter. They were picked for their acting ability, for the role they can play. I can understand being uncertain. But those of you complaining have closed your minds.

Sorry for the relatively long post, those of you accustomed to short-and-sweet messages.

Ah, Dr. Who goes Twilight. HAH! Five quid says the show tanks after Series 5.

I like how, the moment Moffat takes over the running of the show, suddenly he's the Devil running the show into the ground and not RTD.

Gotta love it. Apparently the lighting in a photo shoot and the paleness of the actors automatically means series 5 will be like Twilight.

Twilight was a multi-million dollar success in America. If Dr. Who has any chance whatsoever to succeed in America, it's to go the Twilight route. Matt Smith and this new chick are the right demographic for thirteen-year-old white girls in the States. The target audience with the most disposble income. It will be fun to watch you all shrieking when it happens.

Anonymous said...

I really hope this show doesn't become "Doctor Twilight", kinda looks like that is what they are going for.

No fads please.

Sageeth said...

StormWolf I believe I am in agreement with you here. It is rediculous the idiocy that some people assume certain things.

Karen's got pale skin. Well no freaking duh, we red haired people do have pale skin. Those who don't are most likely fake gingers. Donna wasn't exactly tanned either you know, but she was older sure...

Doctor Who is not becoming like Twilight, whomever started this idea running through people's mind should be shot. There is a good chance that there won't be any sort of romantic feeling between the Doctor and Karen's character... Also just because they are both young it doesn't mean they can't act... Doctor Who will continue on as it always has with the same basic idea heart within it. From the old shows to now there is a certain basis which is what makes it Doctor Who, which is why we all watch, which will always be there.

Also for the person who said "any chance whatsoever to succeed in America" already is a success worldwide... if not that huge in USA who gives a toss... it is a British Sci-Fi and not made to cater to the USA, not should it be. It is the longest lasting Sci-Fi show EVER (Star Trek coming second) based mostly from British and Commonwealth audiences (like my home of Australia) - the USA is not the be all end all of audiences and I wish a lot more people would learn that...

Life on Mars and Doctor Who, two things not made for the USA and that should never be turned into an american focused thing... see what happened to Life on Mars when it got a US remake of sorts - horrendously poor. This will not happen to Doctor Who I am quite sure - it is proudly British and a symbol of theirs. The BBC won't let it be tainted.

The show has always been aimed at a family audience and will continue to be done as such. If anything Moffat was aiming for an older Doctor AND he writes darker and more serious stories (than RTD usually does at least). So he got the youngest Doctor yet, that shows he is open to change and flexible for the right person - Matt Smith must be the right Doctor.

Karen Gillan and Matt Smith have shown great chemistry together as actors, this will lend greatly to the shows. She too is young but so were 99% of the companions. Only a small number (like 4) have been older and they included Jack, Donna and Astrid (if you would count her as one - I don't).

Sageeth said...

For anyone who misinterprets my comments. I don not mean that USA makes crap shows or have anything against America or Americans. My best friend is an American -true fact. Nor was I saying that Star Trek was bad, I really like Star Trek AND I really like Doctor Who. They are not enemies. My stating Trek was second was just to put some perspective on things and name an American show which is also awesome.

My point was that things do not have to be made for Americans, especially stuff made outside the USA. Living in Australia I believe we don't get enough locally made movies and shows (and I think horror sucks so the Saw series means nothing to me.) I also think we don't see enough Chinese and other Asian films and series which are awesome (check out Red Cliffs, the two part asian version if you can). Then there is also great european programming that I am sure we miss out on.

What we get mostly is stuff from the USA... and I am not saying that stuff is bad. Some of it is good, some of it is in the leagues of the greatest shows I am into. Like Star Trek, Star Wars, Buffy, Angel, Sarah Connor Chronicles ( it was axed too :\) and Heroes.

It is a sad thing that people in the United States missed out on Doctor Who for such a long time (and I think a LOT still do) but Doctor Who shouldn't change just to fit them if they don't like it.

Things do not have to cater to the American audience when they do well enough without them. Especially if doing so will alter too much of the basis and alienate the fans it already has.

Now I am sure that any fan of Doctor Who that is here and commenting isn't expecting it to change to suit the masses of wherever they come from. Hell there are even a good number of British people who don't like Doctor Who...

The FANS like what it is, sometimes think things could be better but they still LIKE it and don't want it to change. Especially into something like Twilight. The creators are FANS also, so they won't want to do that either.

So that anon who is making comments about can't wait to see it change and people shriek or w/e (probably the same idiot as the one who said USA will invade our "asses") - they are obviously not really a fan and insteal a TROLL looking for attention. Well you got it - happy?

P.S. Australia, England (and the other British countries) and the United States are close allies - so no ass invading is going to happen... unless you are into that sort of thing and that would be perfectly fine.

Anonymous said...

As an American, I am totally with Sageeth point for point on this. Doctor Who doesn't need to Americanize, and jumping on an already burning out fad wouldn't be the way to do it, anyway! I think everyone is just letting their imaginations run away with them during the hiatus.
And, no, no invading. That hasn't been working out so well for us lately...

Anonymous said...

"Because AMERICA RULES ALL! You don't like it... wait ten minutes. We'll invade your asses. FACT!! We'll put on some decent and successful shows like Trek. ANOTHER FACT!"

If Star Trek is so successful, how come Enterprise was almost cancelled after only 3 seasons and then bit the dust after season 4 ? I love the original Star Trek, but I think all of the spin-offs were ruined by plots resolved by technobabble and the Trek reset button.

Karen Gillian is well fit and get the thumbs up from me !

StormWolf said...

I don't see how the casting of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan have anything to do with Twilight. Can someone enlighten me?

Sageeth said...

StormWolf apparently it is the combination of pale skin and youth... yeah... I don't get it either... I do hate Twitlight though...

I blame how most people rip someone else off and just aim for the latest fad... (Twitlight has ripped off plenty of stuff with its ideas... I can't even count on both hands all the vampire + human love sitautions I know of in books, movies etc)

Anonymous said...

This period actually reminds me of the early 80's when a well established Doctor (Mr T Baker) was being replaced by a younger model (Mr P Davidson), who had the unfortunate problem (aside from having to follow in Tom Baker's shoes) of having been severely typecast in his previous role of Tristan Farnham, in "All Creatures Great and Small".

At the time the Tardis had also gained what was really a "kiddie crew" with Tegan Nyssa & Adric - when for years earlier we had more mature companions such as Romana, Leela, SJS & Harry Sullivan - even Jo Grant wasn't really a teenager anymore - so at the time this overdose of youth and extreme change was seen with some trepidation.

The only real difference now is that we have an entirely new cast filling the ol' blue box at once - and when you think about it that happened not so long ago and thrice before that.

As for who its targeting - The one thing I have always loved about the show (bar that one monstrosity that occured mid 90s)is it has always remained true to what it fundamentally is, and what it fundamentally is, is British.

Another Australian earlier pointed out that we tend to get fed a dose of minimal Australian and maximal American viewing with some British, Asian and Euro viewing thrown into the mix - both American and British television have very individual tastes and neither can be easily mimiced (Life on Mars, Ab Fab ... shudder, Dr Who (that act in the 90s) and QaF spring to mind) - it would be like the States making Trek specifically to British tastes - it would not work, and shouldn't be tried. The show has a loyal and established (and growing) fan base who love it for what it is and was and will be - it will change - but this is Dr Who - and for over 40 years change has been what it's been all about.

Peace

I just want to know why Sageeth thinks Astrid is not a companion, she is....how can she not be?

Anonymous said...

erm i dunno 2 tell the truth, i personally think 2 be a companion u have 2 have had a few trips in the tardis!

Sageeth said...

" I just want to know why Sageeth thinks Astrid is not a companion, she is....how can she not be?"

Well I have my reasons, several in fact. They include but are not limited to:
The fact she was a guess star appearance. Only one adventure with The Doctor.
The fact she never travelleled in the TARDIS once, though this can be waved in some occasions (and doesn't mean someone is either).
The fact that she didn't really even know The Doctor at all nor vice versa.

Compare her to the likes of Sarah Jane Smith, Donna Noble, Ian Chesteron, Jamie, Jo Grant, Romana.

I don't count that Adam idiot either. The Doctor didn't even want to bring him and he didn't do any companion stuff, just messed up crap. Micky would be more chances of being called a companion (and he isn't either).

Anonymous said...

Sageeth, I would like to say that your way of classing a companion is a bit odd....so by your rules then Lady Christina isn't a companion, neither is Jackson Lake who are both classed as companions. Astrid is a companion as she actually fits the role better, she actually did stuff, unlike Christina.....Yes I know, she didn't travel in the TARDIS, but technically Sally Sparrow didn't, but she's always classed as a companion now....so your system for determining a companion needs a re-think!

Anonymous said...

i agree with sageeth, i think to be a "complete proper companion" for eg. rose, martha, donna and i would maybe consider mickey! You have to have had a few trips in the tardis. I dont think that saly sparrow, jackson lake or Astrid Perth were companions, but just very major character perhaps? To agree though it is hard to class a companion, but i also agree by no way was adam a companion!

Sageeth said...

Anon number 1 that is exactly what I think. Lady Christina isn't really a companion, neither is Jackson Lake, nor Astrid, not Sally. My system doesn't need a re-think really. Until Donna was actually in the series I didn't count her as one either. By your system it seems you would count Jenny, Jabe (the tree) and Harriet Jones as companions.

The only ones that I count as companions that didn't travel are the ones who were during the 3rd Doctor's tenure where he couldn't. Ones such as Benton, the Brig etc (though I think even they did travel in it on a short trip or two).

My system is basically based off of what it took in the old series to be called a compainon. As with the second anon here that agrees with me they were more just major characters.

Also I would like to point out that Sally Sparrow isn't even mentioned on the wiki page of companions, so you "always" is unfounded and completely wrong.

Anonymous said...

You didn't answer any of my other points though. Fact.

How can you know it won't gross that much ? I always thought it was WORLDWIDE gross that mattered. Who cares what it makes in the United States of Arseholes ? Doctor Who has been sold to over 100 countries. Fact.

Voyager was a load of shite. Fact.

Insurrection and Nemesis were both flops. Fact.

Voyager even ripped off the Sontarans with the Hierarchy aliens. Fact.

There is no current Trek series in production since the cancellation of Enterprise. Fact. So why are you talking about the ratings for Trek in the present tense ?

Every plot in every Trek spin-off seemed to be resolved by some technobablle solution, e.g. the reverse tachyon tetryon emission beam or something. Fact.

The Enterprise in TNG didn't boldly go very much, they spent too much time sitting around on the ship, and don't get me started on Wesley Crusher saving the ship every other episode. Fact.

why are people allways going on about trek here, this is a doctor who site not a trek one , trek fans go else where, why you even here to begin with?

Anonymous said...

This isn't even a Doctor Who site anymore. There hasn't been an update since May. And the BBC will cancel Dr. Who after the ABYSMAL ratings the new Pee Wee Herman will get.

Worldwide box office? 50 million. Tops. And that will mostly be from the fruits in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Paul Hogan-land. No one else cares about a children's show about a (currently) swishy timelord. Everywhere else, ratings failure.

And have been to 43 of the fabulous United States, 4 Canadian Provinces, 3 separate areas of Mexico, half of Europe (except for the fruity UK), China and Russia. FACT.

Ratings for Trek in the present tense? SyFy runs blocks of them throughout the week and they STILL garner a higher audience share than Doctor Who did when it aired. The various Trek entities STILL garner ratings while Who barely obtained 1 million viewers. Fact.

Trek fans are svelte, devastatingly good looking, and get laid 24/7. Doctor Who is a children's show that appeals to the lowest common denominator mouth-breathing slack-jawed yokels. Indisputable FACT.

Anonymous said...

"Trek fans are svelte, devastatingly good looking, and get laid 24/7."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh god... that cracked me up! Seriously... No more, please! HAHAHAHAHA!

Anonymous said...

So if Trek's so good, why did they have to rip off the Cybermen and the Sontarans ?

The producers of Doctor Who come up with aliens who actually look alien, unlike Trek, where all the aliens have a couple of bumps stuck to their foreheads or their noses. FACT.

Why did every plotline in Trek have to be resolved through technobabble ?

Why were so many storylines repeated over and over ?

Why did all the big space battles in Deep Space Nine, especially the one in the final episode, re-use footage from previous episodes ?

If Trek is such a shining example of storytelling, why was there no character development ? I mean every time something interesting happened to a character, it would be forgotten by the start of the next episode.

Again, if Trek is so good, why is it no longer in production as a TV series ? Because it is tired and was flogged like a dead horse by the same production team for 15 years. FACT !

Doctor Who has changed and evolved over the years. Trek could have done that, but just stuck to the same old crap for years. FACT !

Fat trekkies are geeks who stick cornish pasties to their foreheads and grunt in an imaginary language. Skinny Trek geeks make cardboard pointy ears and try to look like Spock. Female Trek geeks are short, fat, speccy and ugly, Bjo Trimble is a case in point. FACT !

Doctor Who was intended to be a kid's show before it aired in 1963. Since its first airing, it was and still is a series that anyone from 2 to 902 can watch. You can't say the same thing about Star Trek. FACT !

Doctor Who has huge conventions all over the world, the biggest being in America. Fact ! Stick that in yer pipe and smoke it !

www.kasterborous.com ;
www.gallifreynewsbase.blogspot.com

That's just 3 websites out of thousands all over the world. FACT !

But seriously, this site needs to be taken over by somebody.

The producers of Doctor Who come up with aliens who actually look alien... YEAH RIGHT... as long as said alien species wears boiler suits. HAH! FACT!

Anonymous said...

this site has fallen somewhat

Anonymous said...

They look a damn sight more alien than any species created for Star Trek. So you're saying that the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Ice Warriors, Zarbi, Terrileptils, Slitheen, Gelth, Forest Of Cheem, Ogrons, Draconians, Macra, and Bandrils all wear boiler suits ?

99.9% of aliens in Star Trek are variants on the bumpy forehead theme. FACT !

You have no idea what you're talking about, Trek Geek. Undeniable FACT !

TARDIS FILES said...

COME BACK!! oh by the way im now tardis files not !Of The Page!

Do think David bit the pillow as Barrowman bent him over the bed? HAH! FACT! You had your first openly gay/swishy Doctor. Now you got Pee Wee Herman! HAH! DOUBLE FACT!

Lifetime gross of the first 11 films: $1,009,616,100 (That's ONE BILLION!)

Lifetime gross of a single UK-funded Dr. Who film: $100 million... tops.

You lose by sheer dollar intake.
TRIPLE FACT!

And as this site doesn't update, one can hardly call it a Dr. Who site anymore.

Anonymous said...

there is a sneak preview of the two parter christmas special, the title is "The End of Time" you can find it on youtube ^_^

Anonymous said...

(END OF TIME)i saw it, when i first saw it i thot it had lance in it but its a different actor lol, im sure freema agyeman isnt going to be in it coz she hasnt been seen filmed or in any photos and every1 else is back well except mickey, but it annoys me even though not every1 liked her, i still think its an important chracter! But maybe her the actress is too busy :S oh well

@Trek geek:
http://www.cbc.ca/arts/tv/story/2009/07/27/doctor-who.html

Fact, sucker!

Anonymous said...

This site has practically died yet Planet Gallifrey's Spanish site is still getting full updates... BUT THEY'RE IN SPANISH!!

WHAT'S GOING ON!! So much has happened this month with all the trailers and filming and whatnot. Why is their no ENGLISH updates?!?!

Anonymous said...

There are no updates here because no one cares about fruity Dr. Who. Fact.

Anonymous said...

:o doctor who is immense

Liquidizer said...

Um... Anonymous, could you stop FACT!ing please? We are here to talk about Doctor Who, not Trek. If you don't care about Doctor who, then leave this site.

Liquidizer said...

By the way, ignore the link on my name, not sure how it got there, it just appeared!

Anonymous said...

OK, Trek Geek, in what episode did the Doctor come out as gay ? Did everyone else on this planet miss it ?

This isn't a major Doctor Who fan site, so there doesn't have to be updates.

The last episode of Doctor Who was watched by 8.41 million viewers in the UK alone. FACT.

The last season of Enterprise only managed an average of 2.81 million viewers in the US of A. FACT !

Star Trek Nemesis had a budget of $60 million, and only took $67 million at the box office. FACT !

Doctor Who is the longest-running, most successful, and most well-loved science fiction series in the world. FACT !

Still no answer to what I said about Trek's bumpy nose and forehead aliens. What's your excuse for that, or do you acknowledge that the make-up design people on Trek are lazy ?

Anonymous said...

so doctor who, any more new updates?

Anonymous said...

the new companion's name is amy pond

Anonymous said...

oh i know, hmm wonder what the chracter is going to be like,I think its gonna be a doctor/rose situation agen where they fall in love, coz im sure that was hinted in an interview with steven moffat

Anonymous said...

You wouldn't have had ANY current success if it weren't for the sheer success of the Trek franchise. Fact. Get over yourselves.

As for make-up, at least Trek MAKES AN EFFORT at creating aliens. All you guys have are boiler suits, or three costumes made maximum and then digitally altered to make it look like a lot of them. Those fruity rhinos, those fruity scarecrows, the Borg rip-offs, etc. etc.

When did it become gay? When they cast that fruity one that's FINALLY leaving. Of couse, you got an equally fruity one waiting in the wings, but that's life.

Anonymous said...

Doctor Who was successful before and after Star Trek came along. Do your research and get your 'FACTs' right. I take it you only think that Doctor Who started in 2005 ?

Since when was sticking little bits of latex on people's noses and foreheads making an effort. I could probably count on one hand the amount of Doctor Who aliens that wore boiler suits. As for Borg rip-offs ? You're taking the piss there, the Cybermen were created in 1966, whereas the Borg didn't come along until 1988. Again, do your research.

You still didn't tell us what episode the Doctor came out as gay, seeing as the rest of us have only seen him snogging women. The actor who plays him is well known to be heterosexual. I take it that what you are actually trying to tell us is that you have wild homosexual fantasies about him and wish that he was gay like you ?

If Star Trek is so good, why were the writers so reliant on technobabble solutions and on what is widely known as the "Trek reset button" ?

Anonymous said...

CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP! I'm really stressed at the moment and i only come on this site to talk to other people who enjoy watching doctor who and if they know anywhere with spoilers. I understand startrek is good too but people on this site prefer doctor who, its also obvious you only leave comments to try and irritate us as you have nothing else to do! leave this site and find something else to do!

Sorry guys about the weird moan, any one else got new updates? :D

Reading all of this as a non-Trek fan (and that DOESN'T mean I hate it, I've just never seen it) and as a middling-obsessive Doctor Who fan, I am inclined to find all of this bickering quite funny.

Remember guys, this is just a T.V show. Now kiss and make up...

BlushingRose said...

Oh, and thanks to all you guys who put up links :D

Anonymous said...

any more new updates? :D
