A Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover?! Were they mad?!

The muchly anticipated book, The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter, has been reviewed on SFX, with a lovely article spilling some yummy facts about what could have happened! Check them out here. My favourite could-be is:
11. A line was cut from the scene where the Doctor talks to Wilf on the Vinvocci spaceship. He would have explained that he “was half-human back in 1999 for a couple of days” (a reference to the Paul McGann movie).

Canon?!

Already explained in the comic The Forgotten. The Doctor was using a half-broken Chameleon Arch to confuse the Master.

LOL I can't believe Spock could've been the Doctor. I told this to my mum and she was like "That's freaky."

Im very much a trekkie as well as a whovian. But, having the Doctor pointing out to the Enterprise how wrong they are and mocking them? That would have been great.

I've often wondered what kind of story would fit a Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover. Like what would happen if the Borg attempted to assimilate a Dalek? Or if the Cybermen invaded Deep Space 9?

Frankly, I think neither creative departments would be willing to budge on certain aspects, and it would all fall apart.

The chaos of the doctor clashing with the order, functionality and the sometimes a bit selfrightous morality of the star trek universe - sounds fun to me! (I used like ST very much, but now I'm more of a whovian)

It shouldn't surprise anyone, there have been passing mentions of the timelords and the doctor in the star trek books....

Really? Can you find specific references?

Hi,

RTD isn't the first to come up with this idea, Jean Airey wrote a novel "The Doctor and the Enterprise" back in 1982. You should be able to find it on eBay and specialist Sci-Fi shops. For more go here http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Doctor_and_the_Enterprise

Thanks

world and the Doctor shows up and the Star Trek team and him team up up to fight Daleks

anything can happen with Star Trek meeting Doctor Who but there is not

much stories for them why???? it would be so fun to have Q meeting

the Doctor and even more so with the Daleks!

Star Trek New Voyages/Phase 2 should get hold of Paul McGann. Have Who crossover with their show, maybe even have him regenerate in the end.
