5.1 million for The Big Bang

Yesterday's finale of Doctor Who was watched by 5.1 million viewers, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Despite the low ratings, again, the audience share was 31% and was the second most-watched programme of the day, being beaten by the USA vs. Ghana World Cup match.

Ur calling it low rating but really its not, given that the Tennant Obsessives deserted when he left, the gorgeous heat and the world cup I think Matts done a pretty good job of pulling in the figures.

And lets face it, Doctor Who aint going anywhere

I think its disgusting personally that anyone would watch the football over this! And as for your comment that "Tennant Obsessives deserted when he left", I was what you may call a Tennant obsessive but I haven't deserted, I still enjoy this programme immensely and think Matt Smith is doing a great job.

So.. SHHH

Guys guys every one has the right to watch doctor who. Its a free world. And every one has their own tastes. There are still some tom baker fans in this world that think that he is still the best doctor. I have no solid opinion I like David t and I like Matt smith. Personally I think that Matt smith has been given the better stories.

Hay every one has their own tastes. some people still think that tom Baker is the best Doctor. Yes I like matt smith but I also liked David tennant. They are both grate actors in their own way. Personally I think that matt smith has been given the better stories. Some people are just not used to change.

you lot are forgetting that this is the digital age, more people are buyings recordable tv boxes then before since the last two years - last series finale, there's iplayer and doctor who's there for ages.

Sorry Guys, after Tennant and Davies left Doctor Who will no longer be mainstream and will become a niche programme again as it used to be in the past, with a few million watchers. The new worldwide boom was something that started with Ecclestoneand finished with Tennant. Matt Smith was a mistake.

Na! People will just watch it on iplayer. Matt Smith is a much better doctor than 'Tennant'. More like the classic doctors. The early Dr's were the best though
