(Possible) Bad News Part Deux

It seems that us UK fans might not get Torchwood: Miracle Day until after it is aired in the US on 8th July.

As tweeted by Lizo Mzimba:
Doesn't appear on BBC list of TV highlights for week up till 8th July. Not definitive but imagine a show like Torchwood would be highlight.

Hmm... that's a real shame. But good news to American fans who will be the first to experience something kinda Who before the UK does!

However, Lizo did praise the first episode, saying it was "fast paced and mysterious at same time" so maybe it will be worth the wait.

Hah. Payback for all the delayed playings of Doctor Who and Torchwood! Don't worry. Americans are great and fast sharers and seeders ;-)

I'm not all that surprised, to be honest. It's just another UK show which has been sold to the US, and now they want to air it over there before the original owners get it, and considering the cast, and both original and larger audience is from the UK, I think this is just completely unjustified. It makes no sense at all - if there is an easier, earlier means of watching the show than waiting a substantial period of time (I mean more than a few days, a week, ish), I'd much prefer to not support the show by not watching it on TV and managing to in some other fashion: not even Torchwood would be worth a longer wait, although only one or two exceptional shows spring to mind as to being worth a wait. I don't see how it helps the series. Stupid scheduling.

Although, I do admit, I wouldn't stick up quite as much for shows being broadcast earlier in the UK than the US, but if I could choose, I'd have them airing at the same time - it's only fair.

If this series fails and Torchwood gets cancelled due to American involvement, does that count as friendly fire?

I think it's wrong that British viewers have to wait longer than American viewers to watch what was originally a British show.
