Return of Rose!

Yay for the BBC and their glorious...ness. Look at what their website has just told my happy little face!
Billie Is Back!
Billie Is Back!

Rose Tyler returns for Series Four.

Following a series of unconfirmed reports across the media this morning, we're delighted to officially confirm that Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler in Series Four of Doctor Who.

Anything you may read elsewhere about when, how or for how long Rose returs to Doctor Who should be treated as pure speculation at this point.

"Insiders say the plot will centre on Rose’s quest to track down the Doctor in a bid to save Earth, which has become affected by some of his past actions."

AND she's here for three comeback episodes.

Presumably, if its the finale and all that - it could have something to do with the rejected spinoff that RTD was thinking of having: 'Rose Tyler, Earth Defender' which would have been about Rose and Torchwood I think.

Oh! If Rose is back, then can it be hazarded that maybe Mickey and the rest of the Tyler family are making a glorious return??? Here's hoping!

And now we have angels in the background!?!...........ANGELS???

Guests Guests and more Guests

It appears that there are apparent booking problems for series 5 of Doctor Who... What's wrong with the world? Who wouldn't want to be in Doctor Who?!?

Sigh. Check out what the 'Sunday Express' has to tell us:

Despite the show being a huge hit with viewers and winning a string of awards – including a coveted BAFTA – a host of stars have turned down the chance to appear as a fiendish baddie in three specials due to be filmed next year.

Although Billie Piper has been lined up for the one-off shows, even that has failed to tempt some of Hollywood’s finest to star opposite David Tennant who plays the Time Lord.

An insider close to the show said: “The BBC is looking for a top cast announcement. Sir Ian McKellen and David Thewlis have also been mentioned, but no one has yet been signed. They are starting to scrabble about for someone.”

The three specials will be shown in 2009, and are expected to be Tennant’s last as the Doctor.

Show creator Russell T Davies and Tennant are rumored to have persuaded Piper to reprise her role as Rose Tyler, the Doctor’s sidekick.

Have the people of the BBC forgotten that truly lies at the heart of Doctor Who?? It doesn't matter about big, fancy names in the show.... its the captivating story of a rogue Time Lord who runs around time and space, protecting humans and aliens (that are made of sleeping bags and cardboard) from even larger and more evil aliens (that are made from an abandoned canoe and a sock... and usually have a person inside wheeling them about) whilst somehow being oblivious to the fact that all of these far off planets somehow resemble a quarry... honestly!

Wayhey! Someone new to hate!

Well, we don't really hate anyone who is in a relationship with David Tennant... not really...
looks shifty and hides the knife behind her back*
Heh heh, anyway. There's new love in Tennant's life as 'The People' so kindly informs us:

Doctor Who star David Tennant is secretly dating a sexy young girl assistant from the show.

Tennant, 36, has spent cosy nights with stunning blonde Bethan Britton at his apartment in Cardiff where the series is filmed.

At 2am on Wednesday, Bethan slipped out to put a parking permit on her sports car - wearing HIS pyjamas under a hooded jacket.

Tennant stood in the doorway keeping a watchful eye on her until she returned.

The smitten pair went to a nearby pub last week for a romantic drink to celebrate her birthday. A source said: "They sneaked in and sat in a corner, chatting quietly.

"They kept a low profile but were all over each other, holding hands and giggling like naughty teenagers. They make a lovely couple."

Bethan, a 28-year-old contracts assistant at BBC South Wales, lives with her parents in a terraced house in quiet Dinas Powys on the outskirts of Cardiff.

"They really like each other. But they don't want to rush into anything too quickly and have decided to take it slowly.

2 Doctors for Christmas?!?

Yep... you hear me correctly... the Doctor will be appearing on our screens twice on Christmas day, how exciting!

As well as the eagerly anticipated 'Voyage of the Damned', comedian and actor Ricky Gervaise (The Office) is doing a 'Extras' Christmas special in which David Tennant is starring. In the video below, you will see a snippet of the teaser in which Tennant, as the Doctor, can be seen on two occasions.

At the end of the teaser, I've put the two clips together so you can see him better.

Edit: 26th November
A photo of the Extras Christmas special has just been released with none other than David Tennant as the Doctor hanging around in the background. This kinda suggests that maybe he will have quite a large part? Or at least, bigger than just a single scene.

This be a nice article that involves sex... it doesn't really, but I hope I got your attention anyway. This is David Tennant's interview of his up and coming co-star Kylie (aka Astrid)

Favorite Quotes

Fifth Doctor:
Who are you?
Tenth Doctor:
Ohhh... brilliant!... I mean, totally wrong, big emergency, universe goes bang in five minutes, but... brilliant!
Tenth Doctor: Look at you! The hat, the coat, the crickety cricket stuff, the.... stick of celery....yeah.... Brave choice celery, but fair play to you, not a lot of men can carry of a decorative vegetable.
Tenth Doctor:
Ohhhh! Its the back of our head!
Fifth Doctor: What?
Tenth Doctor: Sorry, sorry... it's not something you see every day, is it? The back of your own head.
Fifth Doctor
: What have you done to myTARDIS? You've changed the desktop theme, haven't you? What's this one? Coral? It's worse than the leopard skin!
Fifth Doctor
: [Increasingly concerned] Almost like two time zones at war in the heart of the TARDIS! That's a paradox. Could blow a hole in the space-time continuum the size of...
[The Tenth Doctor spins the monitor]

Fifth Doctor
: ...well, actually, the exact size of Belgium. That's a bit undramatic, isn't it? Belgium?
Tenth Doctor
: D'ya need this? [offers him the sonic screwdriver]
Fifth Doctor
: Nah, I'm fine.
Tenth Doctor
: Oh, no, of course. You went all hands-free didn't you? Like, "Hey, I'm the Doctor. I can save the universe with a kettle and some string. And look at me, I'm wearing a vegetable!
Tenth Doctor
: ...the Master? Oh, he just showed up again, same as ever.
Fifth Doctor
: Oh no, really? Does he still have that rubbish beard?
Tenth Doctor
: No, no beard this time. Well, a wife.
Tenth Doctor
: You know, I loved being you. Back when I first started, at the very beginning, I was always trying to be old and grumpy and important, like you do when you're young. And then I was you. And it was all dashing about and playing cricket and my voice going all squeaky when I shouted. I still do that! That voice thing, I got that from you! Oh, [showing his shoes off] and the trainers, and [puts on his glasses] snap. 'Cause you know what, Doctor? You were my Doctor.
[Touched, the Fifth Doctor raises his hat in salute]

Fifth Doctor
: To days to come.
Tenth Doctor
: All my love to long ago.

Good God...

Oh dear....
I know the Sun is infamous for spewing the most randomness of rumors... and this be another one. I mean, Lily Allen? I've got nothing against her, but can you imagine her on Who? *Sigh*

Lily Allen to star in 'Dr Who'

Not content with bagging her own TV show on BBC3, gobby star Lily Allen is supposedly set to land an "intergalactic" new TV role - as 'Doctor Who''s assistant.

Yup, according to The Sun, Allen is set to step into the TARDIS, following in the illustrious footsteps of the likes of Billie Piper and Catherine Tate, in order to "sex up" the show.

"We've talked to her and she was excited by the idea," explained "a source".
Billie used 'Doctor Who' for her transition from music to acting. We think Lily can emulate that."
But isn't
'Doctor Who' getting a bit too "London trendy"? According to the same article Rhys Ifans is being lined up to replace David Tennant as the good Doctor when he steps down.

The same Sun article also mentioned that John Simm was lined up for a role - making strong claims this time, isn't it?

Jack's Back!

Hooray! Captain Jack Harkness will return in series 4 of Doctor Who.... isn't there just a warm and happy feeling that is bubbling up from your stomach now? We do love him.

Anyway, his return is confirmed from a interview with him:

And then you’ll be coming back as Captain Jack in the New Year…?

I’m not in the Doctor Who Christmas special, but I come back in Series Four, which starts filming after Christmas. Series Two of Torchwood also starts airing on BBC2 in January.

Sooooooooooooo......... it follows from Torchwood, and we know that Miss Martha comes a-running back to the TARDIS after her adventures with Jack in Cardiff...

Will Jack come with her then? Or will he hang around with the Torchwood crew for a bit longer before coming back to the Doctor for the series finale. (since Martha appears in the middle of the Torchwood series it would make sense for her to return to Doctor Who first, then for Jack to return later which will make sense in the Torchwood time line.

Did that make sense?.... who cares... Jack is Back!

More BBC lingo

Stuff from the BBC about the Children In Need special. Thanks BBC!

Tennant and Davison go head-to-head in new DWM.

Peter Davison and David Tennant compare notes on playing the Doctor in an exclusive joint interview in this month's DWM.

Discussing the Fifth Doctor's return in the forthcoming Children in Need special scene, Time Crash, Peter asks, "I'm wondering, do I know where I've come from? Do I know whether I've left behind Tegan and –"

David interrupts. "Yes, is this post-Adric or not?"

"Oh God, we're questioning the logic of the script now," sniggers Peter. "We're turning into Colin Baker!"

Peter goes on to shock David with revelations about his old costume... "[Pointing at the celery on his jacket] Close up, my one looked like a piece of embroidery."

"Your celery wasn't real?!" gasps David.

"No, it was material."

"I'm devastated!"

Tegan was one of the 5th Doctor's companions (In case you didn't know) as was Adric, who was one of the few companions to be killed on the show, its was quite upsetting really. As the 5th Doctor regenerates due to being poisoned, the last thing that he calls is Adric's name. Bless.

Whaddya Make Of This?

Hmmm, okay...
I just watched the Last of the Time Lords commentary by Tennant, Agyeman and Barrowman (ain't I a lucky girl?) AND a few little hints were given....

When Martha rings Tom Milligan toward the end of the episode:
Tennant: (in a whiny school-boy voice) She's gonna get a boyfriend.
(Freema laughs)
Tennant: Do you talk about that in Torchwood... are you... shaked up with him now?
Barrowman: (Immediately) No.
Tennant: OOOOOOhhhhhhhh!
Barrowman: We don't know.
Tennant: Ohhh! I see...

Just before the Titanic crashes through the TARDIS:
Tennant: There's another little story that you've still to find out about, which happens right... now.
(The Doctor glances at the console screen)
Tennant: There! Right in that moment there!
Freema: Looking at the screen?
Tennant: Oh, yeah! You're looking at me blankly! Oh, yeah!
Barrowman: Oh, but wait-
Freema: REALLY?!?
Barrowman: Yeah, but hold on... when we finish this, you're gonna tell me..
Tennant: (Sarcastically) Sure!

Sooooooo..... When he looks at the screen... will that be where the Children In Need special will begin?? That would solve the continuity problem of not having a giant ship stuck through the wall... and then the crash would happen at the end of the 7 minutes.... Oh! Isn't it exciting!

....The BEST thing ever.

Haven't you always wondered ALL of the things that the Doctor tells Martha to do on that video of instructions in "Human Nature/Family of Blood"?

Well.... now you can find out!!

Voyage of the Damned News

Ooooh! It's not that exciting, but I'm in a very excitable mood as I've just got my greedy little hands on the series 3 boxset (Hooray!!!!)

On one of the special features thingys, Phil Collison is talking about a new set that is being build for the Voyage of the Damned, and he mentions how it is "two ends of a bridge that the characters have to cross... that spans across a big chasm. The whole thing is surrounded by green screen so that then The Mill (special effects & computer graphics people) can paint in all the chasm that surrounds them and the big dangerous drop thats underneath them... very dangerous"

The images of the set looked like some big pieces of cardboard, so I can't comment on anything else that looks interesting.... or gives anything else away...

Martha's Bling Ring

Heh, I didn't notice this the first time round and it could be nothing, but miss Martha Jones appears to have a ring on her wedding finger...

So... if it is anything... then who's her lucky man?
How about Tom Milligan? We liked him...
Who knows, but if you have any thoughts get in touch :)

Sunday, November 4

Hey all, just letting you know that I've updated the Information/Rumors section of series 4. It's now full of even more jammy goodness, so take a peek :)

Isn't it exciting?????
I love the BBC for telling me exciting things :)
And now I'm going to share the joy with the rest of the world!

The Sontarans and Miss Jones return to Doctor Who.

The Doctor and Martha Jones are to be reunited in an explosive new adventure, which hits our screens next year on BBC One.

Martha comes face to face with Donna Noble for the first time as they unite against the Sontarans, one of The Doctor's oldest enemies.

"I am delighted to be back filming on Doctor Who with David and Catherine," said Freema. "Martha Jones returns in a fantastic storyline and the fans will get to see her in a whole new light!"

The Sontarans first appeared on Doctor Who in 1973 when they met Jon Pertwee's Doctor. Former Young Ones star Christopher Ryan guest stars as the Head of the Sontarans.

Other guest stars in the new series include Felicity Kendal, Sarah Lancashire, Fenella Woolgar, Tim McInnerny, Peter Capaldi, Phil Davis and Tracey Childs.
