BBC Update

Just like old times!

The BBC Doctor Who site has been updated with the usual new, and shiny things. This includes a jigsaw, which looks like this:

And this scrap of script:

Thalina: We have found it, Sister Spurrina. In the Thirteenth Book of the Sibylline Oracles. The Blue box
[Unscrolling revealing a crude drawing of the TARDIS]
Thalina: And yet, Sybil foretold that the box would appear at the times of storms and fire and betrayal
High Priestess: ...Sisters...
[A whisper, from behind the drapes. The 3 SOOTHSAYERS alarmed, stand cross the room - all three moving as one to face the drapes; they're gauze-like, lit by flames from behind, smoke in the air. A strange misshapen SILHOUETTE]

There's also a new preview clip which is brilliant!

And the usual Fear Forcast, which goes like this:

0 min - Not Epcot!

1 min - Here's a familiar face. Samuel's an aficionado of the CBBC series. Adam is amused. Amy has other concerns: "She looks weird. Why does she keep looking?"

2 min - "It's Mount Vesuvius! It exploded and destroyed Pompeii!" says Harry. "A volcano, woo-hoo!" whoops Samuel.

4 min - "Yuk," says Adam - though Samuel and Harry look as though they'd consider it.

5 min - "Brace yourselves!" There's much excitement!

7 min - "What is it?" asks Amy. "A stone man?" suggest Harry.

9 min - Harry's fascinated "She's got green skin! No, blue skin!" Samuel and Adam sing along with the choir.

10 min - The older kids laugh. "Who?" asks Amy quizzically.

14 min - The kids are open-mouthed with amazement.

16 min - Adam stares in silent amazement. "She should get some cream for that XXXXXX" suggests Dad. Samuel corrects him.

17 min - "They're breathing in XXXXXXXX? That can't be good," mutters Harry.

18 min - The Doctor impresses.

19 min - Adam's amused: "Ha! Typical teenager."

21 min - Adam sums up everyone's feelings: "Uh-oh."

22 min - Amy's startled! "Eurrgh!" says Harry.

24 min - "Here comes the monster!" yells Harry excitedly.

26 min - Donna's bold reaction to her predicament impresses the kids.

27 min - The Doctor jokes and Adam groans: "That's as bad as one of yours, dad." Dad is laughing, obviously.

29 min - The boys love the Doctor's XXXXX XXXXXX. (water pistol?) "I've got one of those!" laughs Samuel.

30 min - "She said that word to the Doctor," says Samuel. Amy grins.

31 min - "She's got a sore throat!" laughs Adam.

33 min - "Crikey!" says Samuel. "Mmm. Big," agrees Harry.

34 min - The Doctor's in trouble. "He needs a bigger XXXXX XXXXXX," (Water pistol?) thinks Samuel.

36 min - The kids are very tense. "It's only the second episode and they're going to die!" gasps Samuel.

37 min - Harry's on tenterhooks.

41 min - Amy's very worried.

42 min - "Why not?" demands Samuel. Mum and Dad look forlorn.

44 min - The family watching the share the horror.

45 min - The choral incidental music swells...

47 min - It's the Doctor! But not the Doctor... Adam and Samuel are delighted.

"The doctor but not the doctor"

(if you don't like possible spoilers don't read the end of this just a little warning)

Christopher Eccleston/9th doctor?
Rember in Rose the guy looking up the doctor everywhere? He had a drawing of the 9th at a volcano if i'm not mistaking.

Anyway don't forget to set your watch for volcano day!

"Rember in Rose the guy looking up the doctor everywhere? He had a drawing of the 9th at a volcano if i'm not mistaking."

Clive, the guy you're referring to, said: "This one washed up on the coast of Sumatra, the day the Krakatoa exploded." Sorry, not the same volcano. You could be onto something, though.

Wow, the special effects are better. The previous seasons were awful.

So, is that "familiar face" going to be Rose again? Anyone else wondering about that?

The comment at 45 minutes bothers me because I want to know what its about.

I think that it could either mean
1) The Ninth Doctor
2) A possessed Doctor? *shug*
3) A clone of the Doctor?

you missed;
- a ventriloquist dummy doctor
- a scarecrow doctor (a-la-jon pertwee)
- a viz comic style rude doctor

:)

what about, a dog CALLED doctor?!
no, wait - pompeii. chicken called doctor.

I think the "familiar face" could be Jack-- we know he was there on volcano day, after all. :)

Unknown said...

Well, except that the kids seem to be referring to a woman ("She looks weird," and "why does she keep looking?")...but I wouldn't mind if it were Jack at all.

Also, my bet on the-Doctor-but-not-the-Doctor is that it's Dr. Jones.

When was Tom Baker going to have his cameo? That was Tom Baker, wasn't it?

Oh, and here's MY guess for "It's the Doctor! But not the Doctor..." (like you care):

We see the Doctor, either a past incarnation (Ninth?) or a future appearance (for example, there's been talk of a Doctor-Master body swap) in one of the priestess's visions.

for the familiar face it could be someone from SJA. they mention CBBC

sarah jane may be the "familiar face", she is in this series
