Last seen in an escape pod, though...who's that? Not the Master, he was last seen on fire. Davros then? I haven't seen Resurrection of the Daleks (and don't even know if it's the last we see of him), but it mentions in the plot synopsis that he has an escape pod ready.
I'm sure people who have been fans longer would know. I'm simply throwing guesses out based on a little research.

It depends who they're aiming the episodes at. If its adults, then it will be from Torchwood or something to do with them. If it's aimed at the kids then it will be someone from Sarah Jane Adventures...

can i put back in my theories, which are kinda grabbing at the dark:
1) the dead dr isn't actually the dr, but could be the John Simms (is that his name?) theres something about it that doesnt feel right to me.
2) somehow davros got the dr's hand is using that as a replacement- i just like this thought and could also aid davros with knowledge and what not.
I also dont mind if Christian Cooke being back, as he's rather pleasant on the eys.

i know the theory is something like a butterfly flapping its wings at a different time can drastically alter the future, sounds like we could have some confusing wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey type stuff? but got no ideas what it could be.
Basically (I've read this in a RTD) Turn Left refers to the choices we make - should I turn left or right? The Fortune Teller shows Donna another existance if she hadn't gone with the Doctor. The same way a butterfly choosing to fly in one direction can change a chain of events.

I think that its in an alternate universe where the Doctor gets killed by the ATMOS car. He gets sent into the river. They get him out. He was holding his sonic screwdriver when the jeep went in. Also, there is a jeep in the background when, (seriously guys, its definitely Ross), is speaking into his radio. HENCE the title, "Turn Left".

As for Davros, he last appeared in "Remembrance of the Daleks" with Sylvester McCoy, where he was last seen getting into an escape pod.

Let's end all "escape pod" speculation now... It's Davros, dudes. Davros' last appearance was him flying away in an escape pod. The question is, is the clue a red herring? A lot of their red herrings this season have referred to old episodes.
I think Ross is alive. Look at the spot where he supposedly "dies," it looks like the beam goes right next to him. Plus, all the other soldiers yelled when they died; he didn't.
Now, if I were in that situation, and a beam *just missed* killing me, I'd play dead. I think Ross is alive and well and coming back.
Along with Davros...but come on, we've seen THAT from the spoilers since before this series started airing.

I think the "mastermind" thingie is the Trickster from the Sarah Jane Adventures, I know they wouldn't give him a huge role or anything, but it just says it's someone who's the mastermind of the ill fate that happens to Donna.

From what I can work out, the soldier is Harris who was indeed hypnotized and then later shot by the Sontarans.

Whoa! You're right. The bad guy of Turn Left is the Trickster - he removed Sarah Jane from the timeline in order to feed from the energy that would be created by all the disasters when she left, and said he intended to do the same to the Doctor. That's why the Doctor is gone: he has been removed from the timeline by the trickster, who is feeding off the choas created by all the disasters in Turn Left.
And the New Dalek Empire in The Stolen Earth would agree to have the Doctor removed. Remember, the Trickster in SJA killed Sarah Jane in her past, but he could only do that with the consent of someone else, and he was defeated when that woman decided not to let the Trickster keep Sarah dead.
according to tardis.wikia.com Trickster will be played by Chipo Chong, she will not wear prosthetics and will be a fortune teller on shan sheng. Though I think at the end of the episode she will reveal herself.
Though a wiki isn't really trustworthy I still hope it's the fortune teller from TW.

That's what I've been saying - there's already been loads of speculation that the Doctor will be "removed from time" in Turn Left, and the culprit that jumped to everyone's mind was the Trickster. But I think it's a red herring, because it's totally characteristic of DigitalSpy to play off of fan speculation!

Chipo is indeed set up to return (she played Chantho in series 3) and it is speculated that she'll be the fortune teller, although theres no proof as of yet.
However, I sort of doubt it'll be the trickster. I have no explanation as to why, but like n.t I think DigitalSpy is playing to our expectations. Besides, the Doctor isn't removed from time.
In SJA, Trickster just let SJ die when she didn't lived and let someone else live.

on the trailer at 21 seconds you hear a scuttling noise like a beetle then if you pause at around 23 seconds you can see the thing on donna's back. Also in colin morgan's video diary at 55 seconds there are a load of stone things on set except that bit's probably useless.

I was going to say that if the spin-off series they are referencing is Torchwood, then it has got to be Bilis Manger. His ability to literally step through time would fit in perfectly with what little we know about this episode. Plus, he is possibly the creepiest character to have hit television in the last 10 years. :D
I definitely think the Doctor's name might very well be a story arc. From Fires of Pompeii, Doctor's Daughter, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, and now this. I'm sure there's more, but those are the most obvious.

I cant wait for this episode, but i still think The Doctors Daughter is the best episode of the series! But this episode or three parter lol will be very interesting. But VERY sad.
I assume Mr Chaudhary is the man who puts up Donna and her family when they're evacuated. I guess he's just a bit flirty with her or something.
Just to clarify, the UNIT soldier shown at the beginning of the Turn Left trailer saying that the Doctor is dead, is in fact Private Harris from The Sontaran Stratagem (one of the two hyponotized UNIT soldiers)...and this is definitely a show that takes place on a parallel Earth.
Sorry, I'm not entirely sure that its definitely a parallel Earth. It might just be an alternate timeline, that could easily explain why Harris is alive as well.
That might be a good explanation too...but I guess we won't know until next Saturday unfortunately :(
What if the Trickster from SJA is actually played by Chipo Chung but doesn't need someone's consent to cause the chaos of a world without the Doctor because it created a time beetle that does that for itself? It would explain an alternate time line, the rumors that Chipo Chung is playing a character called the Trickster, and as for her not wearing any prosthetics in this, the Trickster could just have possessed her or found a face or something like that.
"And here's a rumored storyline for episode 11, "Turn Left": The Doctor dies fighting the Racnoss (back in the 2006 Christmas special), because Donna isn't there to help him. RTD said about the story arc for this series that there will be "small but vital references going all the way back to series one".
All the way back? That's an odd way to put it, as Series One of the new show was only a few years ago.
But if you go all the way to Series One of the Classic Series, and go to the Aztecs episode, you see that in the episode the Doctor refuses to let Susan interfere because of Aztec Customs, in which this case there is a required sacrifice in order to appease the darkness - in this case an eclipse. I.e. Someone must die to defeat the Darkness.
It's a bit of a long shot, but I wouldn't put it past RTD. In the commentary for FotD, he, Moffat and Tennant spend a fair bit of it talking about Classic-Who.

Hm, I'd agree with alternate time line, not parallel universe theory.
If it's parallel universe/Pete's world, then how did Donna get there? Why is Doctor there? In series 2 in 'Age of Steel' Doctor said there were no Time Lords in that parallel world. How come he's dead and didn't regenerate?
It does points more to alternate timeline, which is more interesting in my point of view. All the what ifs?

Also, when Tosh and the Capt are about to go back to 1941, there is graffiti of Bad Wolf on the staircase. Why would Rose put a marker there?

Romana played dead in Destiny of the Daleks. Then again also in that episode she regenerated several times changing her look and did it for the pleasure of it at will and without much effort and wasting her lives... let us not speak of that ever again though.

It could be that the Doctor is dead because of the nuclear storms from the Titanic crashing into Buckingham Palace. He's wearing his black suit; there's a mushroom cloud which could be from the nuclear storms that powered the Titanic's engines; and Private Harris wouldn't have died because that time line would be before the Sontaran Stratagem

And she says that Davros lives. . . . insert big dramatic pause and Davros wheeling forward like in mid-series trailer" It could be made very dramatic if done properly.
Oh, and Sageeth, I'm sorry, but I have to speak of Romana's regeneration. She wasn't wasting her lives, she was choosing one. In one of the classic series episodes it mentions that Time Lords choose their regenerations and can sample them first without losing any. I don't remember which episode though.
If ya find out, sam, I'd sure like to know which episode that was... there's a good deal of argument over whether or not Jenny regenerated.
My vote goes with the Trickster too. I've thought he (it?) would be in Who series 4 (or some Series) ever since it mentioned him to Sarah Jane as being interesting...and the idea of removing the Doc from time and all the hassle that would result if he'd never been around to help/fix things? Way too fertile a suggestion to be ignored! :-)
I didn't know that Sam but still that doesn't go well with what we seem to see with The Doctor. He's always a little surprised at what he looks like and it is a stressful process for him and not something done for fun. I think that would have been all cover up, but us faithful fans pretend we never saw things we did just to make continuity work and such. Or we come up with long and strange explanations lol. That Dalek never had feet sticking out from below its skirt you were imagining things :p.

It's just the phrasing "Davros Lives" doesn't sound... right... it's too blatantly obvious, spoils the momentum when we actually see Davros... and just the phrasing doesn't sound right for Rose.
Like I said I think he's back just... the phrasing sounds poo and not Rose-Like. It sounds as if she and the Doctor encountered him together for that phrase to sound right...
I don't know. It's just the phrasing seems weird.
I can explain why the Doctor is always surprised when he regenerates: when has he ever done it just because? Every time it's something that should have killed him, such as falling off that dish in the episode I didn't see, the Rani attacking his TARDIS, absorbing the Time Vortex which is supposed to kill whoever does that. It's stressful and surprising because he didn't choose to regenerate then, he just did so that he wouldn't die.

He was dying, but was very calm... So he could guide his regeneration. I guess.
I wouldn't say it was an easy process by any means though at all... I mean look at all that light and energy blasting off of him. It looks painful to say the least. The Master didn't seem to have a fun time during the regeneration itself even if he was calm and in control. I wouldn't go through all that just to change my face a few times to get one I liked... ohh plus that with Romana was the only time we saw a Time Lord change into a look of something that wasn't exactly human looking.
On an unrelated note, Jenny's "regeneration" would have to be different intentionally. Probably because they wanted Georgia back for the season finale or something and needed a way to keep her.

RTD has stated in DWM that this is his 'Sliding Doors' episode. For those of you who've seen the film, this means that it presents an alternative 'What if' universe.
The episode is premised on Donna being 'attacked' by a time beetle at the carnival which leads to her seeing an alternative universe in which she never met the Doctor. The events start in the run up to the Runaway Bride and are based on what would have happened if Donna had never met the Doctor. He would be killed by the Empress of Racnoss, the Titanic spaceship would hit the Earth, UNIT would pick up the TARDIS and lots of planets would have been destroyed without the Doctor to defend them (hence Wilf's comment). But then Rose needs to come back from her alternate universe as she's picked up on Davros and the Dalek's plans. And this will lead into the final 2 episodes...
what i dont understand is surely if donna had never got the job at h.c clements she would never have been pumped full of huon particles and the racnoss wouldnt have been all, powerful

this would mean that this other 'key' would have turned up in the tardis. he/she could replace donna in every way, possibly even becoming a companion. or is that taking it too far?
Well, they might've just done as they did to Lance, and force-fed him/her the whole thing. I dunno, good point.
