Well, some color doesn't hurt. Let's hope they've upgraded the voice as well, cos they've got really annoing voices.
I wonder why red, though? I mean they've sprinkled some red images here and there throughout the series, but most of them didn't seem to carry any significance. (Like red track suits :)
Speculation is that the Red Dalek is the supreme one, since its got 3 head lamps and a new weapon.
Theres also a slightly weirder rumor that inside that red casing is Harriet Jones.
So, red being regal color? I suppose it makes sense. But it fits with human perception of roaylty and all, but probably not Daleks'?
Yes, I've heard about Harriet Jones too. Maybe she asked for that color before being turned into a Dalek?:) I really hope it's not true, though, I did like her, despite firing on Sycorax ship.
All the Daleks have been gold since RTD started his series (except the cult of skaro) because they were all from the same faction, so the red Dalek could just be proof that this new red dalek is one of Davros', and not one of the old dalek emperor's. Or am I just getting very confused? The Dalek having a new appliance (no, not a dishwasher) isn't the only one, because in the background of the first Davros pic, there was a Dalek with another diferent appliance. It seems that Davros has been busy!
On BBC Radio 1's website Chris Moyles went to AnyEfects (where Danny Hargreaves works who does DW) And there was a Red Dalek which only showed the dome without ear lamps and it was a normal Dalek painted Red but did not show the base.
And Davros would not have something like that on his head plus his bse was Gold in the trailer. So I think there not real.
someone has spent some serious time creating fakes of this quality though, i think they are real.

if so the detail is fantastic, and i cant wait for them!

MY review
The red dalek is cool though i dont like the new gun :( the three head lights look like a sort of crown and i like the fact that it has more added to it. all in all buy the toy when it comes out! (9/10)
Davros! possibly the best look he has ever had he has finally lost his boring head in a jar or in a dome look. The metal body is nice especially when you will see whats under the metal (spoiler) A burnt mechanical body!
The base is different to the trailer meaning either that wasnt davros or that this was one of the old trailers. i like the black base better and if it has changed i will probably paint over the gold into black just to make him look cool!
All said and done davros is one set you cant miss and hopefully he will live up to my expectations i want a full out war in episodes 11,12 and 13. (100000000000000000000/10):0

The Daleks wouldn't be the Daleks without their voices being what they are. Well they would be but that would be like having the Cybermen change their voice or K9 his or having the doctor dress like a normal person... it is too key to their identity.
First you see the shape moving in the shadows and you think ohhh *enter expletive here* then you see the full form and colours (which can change as not too important, just not too often) and finally. EX-TER-MIN-ATE! In that screeching howl of theirs.

Well there were also black topped ones that you can see flanking the Emperor (and a few others maybe)back in season 1 of the new series. Also only Sec has a special colouring in the Cult of Skaro - as far as we have seen so far.
Though I read this on wiki:

You are assuming that is him. No proof of that yet.

These are obviously real folks, come on! I think Davros looks fantastic as does the Red Dalek Supreme (or whatever s/he is called)!
And dunno what you mean by "Davros wouldn't have something like that on his head" as his cranial frame looks almost exactly like what he's had on his head in every other appearance (if you're meaning the square metal braces/head rest - that is not on his head, it is behind it - it's part of the back of his chair).

Also, for the Red Dalek, the reason it didn't have the 3 "eyes" on the CHris Moyles show is because they weren't attached - look at the photo - the eye lights are on little platforms instead of attached directly to the head like other Daleks. And this is the same Dalek (or cooies of the same Dalek) as on the CM show - look at the shoulder slats - they are red just like in that segment (and I see now why - the gold hydraulic slats are - like the Eye Plinths - additional hardware on an otherwise standard Dalek base.
These are 100% real. And I personally think Davros looks as good as he's ever looked since Genesis - certainly much better than the "leaked" blurry photo from last week would have us believe (and I was a bit disappointed in that - happy to say these have got me super psyched and excited for them now - bring on Davros and his blood red Dalek Nanny - it's going to be one heck of a finale!!! :-)

7th doctor story from classic series
Actually in the new series the Red Dalek is the Dalek Supreme (and unique), not an indication of engineer status like the old series. Just like the Gold Dalek in the old series was a special leader but in the new series is the "grunt" color for all the soldier Daleks (or goldish-bronze at any rate). So at some point(S) in Dalek history, the color indicators have changed. :-)
how are the daleks back caan dissapered in evolution of the daleks series 3 episode 5 but rose is back as well and anyone who watched doomsday will agree with me th breach close the parallel universes barrier is secure the writers now i think are running out ideas so who knows what will happen in the next series finale

it seems likly that this is davros due to the shot of him during this weeks cnfidential, secondly the red dalek could (an i cant belive no1 has said this) be dalek caan (new armer because his old one is old, and is well possition in the ranks) davros might not be leading the daleks. caan could be. as 4 harriot jones beeing a dalek thats just insain but i admit i am scared of this happening.

right firstly how stupid can you get people harriet jones may be evil but certainly not evil enough to be a dalek secondly of course it is davros thirdly caan is not going to get a new rank for faling his missions he got his butt kicked ion doomsday by the doctor he was lucky to survive secondly his experiment went wrong in evolution of the daleks and last but not least davros is there already so hes the boss not caan he can just give the orders through his wheelchair

I researed the red dalek and apparently there has been blue and red!
there has been all kinds of coloured daleks blue gold green yellow silver even purple also dalek caan has had a makeover it shows a picture in the radio times
so we might need to jump behind the sofas as it is the scariest and best episode of doctor who yet

yellow and purple daleks i dont think so! would be nice to see a green dalek lol medical type or have special /numerous attachments or the good old davros heavy weapons dalek that would be classic!
Actually the only colours of Daleks to appear are bronze (new series), black, gold, white, silver and, according to some people, red (in black and white). There has never been blue, green, yellow or purple.
red daleks are actually spacecraft commanders but then again rtd doesnt have a clue how to follow daleks properly which is disgusting and the last episode in the series to be honest anyone could have dopne that or even better poor show from rtd the actors did well of a porr script and only blue dalek we seen is the old ones and that blue is on the sensors
