«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 245 of 245 Newer› Newest»do you think there will be any follow up from the mr copper foundation? after all thats where the basic technology for the sub-wave system came from.
Did anyone think that although it was pitch dark outside, when the Daleks blew down the walls of Harriet Jones' house, it was really bright?? Hmmmmm....
Did anyone think that although it was pitch dark outside, when the Daleks blew down the walls of Harriet Jones' house, it was really bright?? Hmmmmm....
did anyone else pick up that, when the donna heartbeat thing happened when the lady talked to her she said "there was something on your back, YOU ARE SOMETHING NEW" and when Donna came back to reality in Turn Left the fortune teller said "you're too strong... what will you become" so maybe that beetle has made donna become something else but she doesnt know it?
just a guess:)
You're are either gonna love me, hate me or think I'm completely off my rocker.
NANOGENES, NANOGENES, NANOGENES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Doctor isn't regenerating, it's NANOGENES!!!!!!
Ok.....*breathes deeply*
Remember "The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances" and the scar left behind on the hands of those touched by the NANOGENES! ***Excuse my excitement** Remember the Doctor talking about how the nanogenes were stored to restore a whole people (the Chula), but everything went awry on Earth. Remember the old lady under Dr. Constantine's care who grew her leg back. It seems these little critters are able to change people, build people and repair people.
*breathes again*
The Doctor's Daughter.... Remember the mark on the back of the Doctor's hand after he stuck his hand in that machine to have a bio sample taken (they deliberately showed it at the beginning of the ep., yet it meant little to the plot of the Doctor's Daughter)--it was identical to the one on the back of every person who was touched by the nanogenes in The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances. They didn't mention nanogene technology in the Doctor's Daughter, but there is definitely a tie in somehow.
The Chula weren't the only ones with that type of alien tech, and there was enough tech in the Doctor's Daughter that it could be along the lines of Nano technology.
I suppose I should entertain the thought that whatever that mark was on the back of his hand, it could also make a regeneration go wrong, but I hope it's nano tech doing the nanogene thing like in The Doctor Dances.

you know when rose was just about to leave to find the doctor, in donnas house, she was on the phone to 'control'. Can she still have contact with his parallel world or are the barriers completely broken and anyone can come and go from worlds?
new tralier on the bbc website!!! :D
Re Davros wanting to destroy the universe. Well, he's insane. Always has been, right back to Genesis where he had a discussion over whether he would release a virus to destroy every living thing. Davros' answer, "Yes, I would do it. That power would set me up above the gods. And through the Daleks, I shall have that power!"
So, yes, he would happily destroy the universe because that would be the ultimate demonstration of his power.
Also, re the supreme dalek being the emperor. It is possible, as he said that he had made himself emperor after surviving the time war. So, it could be the supreme dalek that survives. If that makes any sense.
One more thing. If the Earth has been stolen, does that mean all the communication satellites have been taken too? Otherwise, how would all the mobile phones work? (not including the ones the Doctor has fiddled with). Not to mention the satellite telly.
'Cos I didn't see any flying around Earth. And anyway, wouldn't they be the first things the Daleks destroyed?
I haven't seen this posted yet, but didn't the Doctor say that they were "one second into the future" when they were sailing through the Medusa Cascade to earth? Wouldn't that have some significance to the regeneration?
>>It's too soon for him.<<
Are you sure? Is Tennant officially confirmed by the BBC as the 10th? Couldn't he have "died" several times during the Time War?

i just saw the journey ends a second time
* I noticed the subwave of henriete jones was sponsored by the cooper foundation (cooper foundation another word for dalek? dalek are made of cooper?
* I dont trust henriete jones I find her to keen to not use the osterhagen key (is she an ally from the daleks?
* dalek caan says The darklord is coming not the timelord is coming?
* what does dalek caan means by the 3folded man?
If Davros wants to destroy Everything, shouldn't that create a tiny problem for Daleks too, so they might rebel against him, like they did before?
I like the comment about satellites still working.
Also, if you really wanted to look at some of these situations a bit more scientifically, then some of these planets (the smallest ones) would've been immediately ripped apart by tidal forces being at such close proximity to giant planets. And Earth would've had MASSIVE tides, volcanoes, earthquakes just for starters. But hey, I'm sure Dalek's technology keeps all of it at bay :)
I just read on antoher forum that the cooper foundation is the foundation of the men who is in the vovayge of the damned. The one with the big credit card on the end, he finally can buy a house with a garden.

I mentioned that yesterday on the c-box, but when the doctor stands outside at the disappeared earth none can be seen.
And Iam also guessing a lagr portion of the atmosphere and surrounding space alos had to be taken.
What i want to know with so many planets so close why havnt we received communications from any of the other species? obv probally wouldnt be that much to the story line but would have been fun to see like extra tv channels from the others.
the doctor isnt regenerating, hes been tagged by a dalek and is being teleported onto the crucible.
ok, first point, all of you blabbing on about chris eccleston and paul mcgann, no way, why do you think they gave up the role of playing doctor who? chris eccleston says he'll never be doctor who again.
erm, second, donna, a time lord, no way, i mean wouldnt they have noticed at stuff, i mean, the two heart beats and all? she could just be a very special person, with powers even the doctor doesnt know of.
Harriet jones is proabaly alive, but this sentient techonogy that she has? surely she couldnt make such a thing, shes only an ex prime minister, so who helped her?
Also, who was rose talking to before she teleported off to meet the doctor? was it mickey and jackie?
i personally think that donna dies heroically, the doctor goes into two in a horrible regeneration, involing the hand in the jar, rose gets the human one and everyone lives happily ever after
YEY!

Holy crap, you might be on to something!

"I noticed the subwave of henriete jones was sponsored by the cooper foundation (cooper foundation another word for dalek? dalek are made of cooper?"
Copper, not cooper - and Daleks are made of Dalekanium! Mr. Copper was a character in Voyage of the Damned. (But you knew that.)
@combom -
"the doctor isnt regenerating, hes been tagged by a dalek and is being teleported onto the crucible."
What?
"(the smallest ones) would've been immediately ripped apart by tidal forces being at such close proximity to giant planets."
the doctor said they were all in perfect balance
By the way, there is a squeetastic new trailer online that I hope you will post online soon!
I still think the Doc should regenerate into Christopher Biggins.
mygod, even though ive already thought of 63456754567898765678 different ways to kill russel t davies and my tv is still recovering from me yelling / swearing at it for 5 minutes solid after last nights episode;that was a bloody good episode and the edning although painful, it was also excellent.
now we got that crap out of the way, onto next week's epidsode theories.
i totally think all the previous theories mentioned are plausible but realisticly we're not gonna find out 'til next week.
HOWEVER there is abook called journey's end.....could this hint to the plot...or could it be a coincidence and im going crazy. probably the latter. typre journeys end in to wikipedia to find out more.
laters,
p.s. wtf was all this darkness s**t about, was it just the darleks or is there yet anotherbucket of shizz coming our way?
@n.t.
If you are correct and she is on the Doctors side then I still don't think she is dead. They will take her prisoner and maybe turn her into a Dalek.Maybe that is where all the Harriet as the Supreme Dalek rumors came from?I still think she is working with/for the Master.
How long til Journeys End is posted??LOL
That and the "sound of drums" tempo is a fairly common tempo. It's a very standard, even-paced four-beat rhythm.
completely random comment... but wasnt it so nice to see ten smile a proper true happy smile! (even if it did get cut short...).
However my cruel mind has now thought that RTD has the perfect get out clause for not giving rose/ten closure ... as a "new" ten (if the botched regenration happens) will he still have those same feelings for her that he has had before ... or will he (finally) be able to move on? That WOULD be the best thing as far as wiping the slate clean for moffat .. but seems a little unfair... mmm
wasn't it implied in last year's finale that regenerating was optional? the master chose not to regenerate in the face of death...so why is it seemingly involuntary now?
the hand that was cut off was the right (if i remember correctly) but the dalek blast caught him on the left side
what does all of it mean?
not a freakin' clue
Hey guys! Im gonna throw something out their! The big thing is that someone is going to die. dalek caan said it was gonna be his most loyal companion. And who has been with him from the beginning? The Tardis of course! Maybe it is just my hope that none of the cast really dies but do i sound crazy or is this plausible?
How exactly can you open a FOB ring though? I mean, the FOB watch was opened to release the timelord essence back into the human form, but not really much you can do with a ring?!
Definitely something going to happen with Donna. And I cannot believe they had just about everyone in this episode but not K9!
Me too.
One thing that struck me as odd was that the Supreme Dalek called Dalek Caan "the Abomination". The Dalek Emperor (or his daleks, cannot remember who actually spoke) in The Parting of the Ways called Rose the same thing when she returned to kill them. Clearly there is no link, but a a bit weird for RTD to use that twice.
This is rather out there, but I was pondering earlier and thought that perhaps the death of the Doctor's "most faithful companion" turns out to be the death of himself (as in, he regenerates and "splits" or whatever and one of him dies)... after all, when everyone else "withers and dies," all he has left is himself. :P
Yeah, crazy... and I dunno if that would make for a good story or not, but... thoughts?
@chris
"How exactly can you open a FOB ring though? I mean, the FOB watch was opened to release the timelord essence back into the human form, but not really much you can do with a ring?!"
Easy it has a hinge on it and flips up.Didn't you ever see a movie or show where the bad guy drugs someones drink and has a ring that opens up and they dump some powder in someones glass?
I noticed she does have a big ring on,and they have different sonic devices(screwdriver, lipstick and pen)plus the Masters laser screwdriver,so why not a F.O.B. Ring?Plus at the end of LOTTL someone picked up Masters ring(I think it was Harriet) maybe he was saved to his ring?I don't think Donna is the Master, but a Time Lady.
dont know if anyones mentioned this but if rose saved wilf and sybil/silvia/donnas mum ,mickey and jackie r gona save sarah jane , whos gona save torchwood - jenny? or i think the pterodactyl will fly down and distract the dalek while gwen and ianto escape on the lift thing
i just watched stolen earth again to try and see if 1 harriet jones had red nail polish on and 2 if she had the ring from the ashes of the master on but u never see a clear shot of her right hand ,u do get a quick glipmse and shes got a square shaped ring on her right little finger , and also she has got lots of drawings behind her maybe like the doctor had his journel of impossible things she has been drawing memorys of things the master has done , the main picture behind her is a forest
did anyone else pick up that, when the donna heartbeat thing happened when the lady talked to her she said "there was something on your back, YOU ARE SOMETHING NEW" and when Donna came back to reality in Turn Left the fortune teller said "you're too strong... what will you become" so maybe that beetle has made donna become something else but she doesnt know it?
@alex -
"whos gona save torchwood - jenny? "
Luke?
"(the smallest ones) would've been immediately ripped apart by tidal forces being at such close proximity to giant planets."
the doctor said they were all in perfect balance
Yeah, the Doctor's been wrong before, hasn't he? :)
Yes, they might be in balance, but to get to balance you need to move them farther apart. Like, Earth for example: we do have tides from the Sun, not just the Moon, but they're very weak, because the Sun is so far away.
And, btw they really set the record in this episode with how much science they got wrong! If they have science consultants, they're terrible!
But hey, it's all Dalek technology and it works :) so I just close my eyes to all that and enjoy the story!
I was not expecting this episode to come together so nicely, but fortunately I was pleasantly surprised. With the whole time team of past companions coming into play in the ultimate Dalek show down you might have guessed that I was expecting it to be a tid bit overdone, or maybe at least crowded? However, I can happily state that it was neither those two things.
When I first heard how many characters RTD was planning on stirring into the finale I thought that it would never work out. I was actually a little bit disappointed that the last episode aired until 2010 would be a blowout 60 minutes consisting of all the main characters having a serious talk about the the end of the universe and a whole bunch of crying. Oh, and throw in some Daleks and good old fashioned exterminations for dramatic affect. I can't believe how totally wrong I was. What I was expecting is no where near the conclusion I came to after watching "The Stolen Earth."
The tone was just right. Not too soap opera, yet still it came through as a grave episode. The way they introduced each companion and what they were doing separately all over the world instead of just having one chance "I was never expecting to find you here!" meeting was brilliant also. And finally, the Doctor's and Rose's reunion was exactly what it should have been. RTD gave it the right feeling without getting too sappy. Although I sort of wish they could have at least had a conversation before he, well, died, you know, in the time lord way. Or is he regenerating into a new doctor? Can I just say: What a cliffhanger!?
So, long comment short, I think the episode was put together very nicely. I was pleasantly surprised.
:) EXTERMINATE!
I'm calling Donna becomes the Tardis as of right now. Not as in Rose looks into the Tardis and becomes bad wolf, but that the timey wimey stuff in the tardis' heart IS Donna in some form, and she gets sent back to the creation of the Tardis or replaces the Tardis' heart somehow.
I'm going off of the fact that donna wants to travel with the doctor forever, plus the "you're something new" comment. PLUS Rose telling Donna that they had to have the two of them, Donna and the Doctor together.
"I'm calling Donna becomes the Tardis as of right now. Not as in Rose looks into the Tardis and becomes bad wolf, but that the timey wimey stuff in the tardis' heart IS Donna in some form, and she gets sent back to the creation of the Tardis or replaces the Tardis' heart somehow."
Why does that not create a paradox, then?
I Squeed AND cried at the Doctor/Rose moment, so can I put my hands AND legs up?
thought the doctor would regenerate into the new doctor as the 11th doctor but it too late now because he kept his body to not regenerate so he will die when he is the 12th doctor not the 13th doctor I m sorry beside david morrisey will not played the 11th doctor in the next doctor christmas
