Doctor Who Filming, 25.02.09

Woo! Explosions! Fire!
The new episode is looking to be very exciting!
Yay for Scooty and all the set reporters :)

In the words of Scooty: An explosion the size of which I have never seen before. It formed a giant mushroom cloud and left a huge black smoke ring in the sky. It shook the camera from my hand, so unfortunately no pictures of the explosion itself. Its more than worth the wait for though!

As well as this, we've got the Doctor back in the orange spacesuit!

He runs away from the explosion (in this case, green screen), jumps on a trampoline and lands on a crash mat (i.e. is blown forward)

The Doctor then wakes up amongst a load of rubble. And slowly walks forward.

So if this is the Christmas special, its not that Christmassy! And it seems its almost certainly on an alien planet - they're in a quarry after all! There was a suggestion of Mars?

And you can see EVEN MORE photos in Scootys photobucket account.
BOW DOWN TO HIM!

Looks exciting! I can swear the spacesuit DT is wearing is the same one in "Impossible Planet/Satan Pit"
Theories?

Oh probably. Why buy a new one when they've got two different ones to choose from that would work just fine? :)

Well, the Doctor was wearing the orange spacesuit when he left the pit in "The Satan Pit" wasn't he? He had it on when he found the TARDIS, and I doubt he took time to strip it off before going to save Rose and the others. Therefore, he probably keeps it in the wardrobe for occasions in which he might need it.

That, and the producers are saving money by not having to make a new suit :)

I think DT said in a confidential for series 3 that they had a new one for him when he did 42 but it didn't look any different cause of the lighting on the set.. LOL

so w/ two of them I also doubt they will be spending on another one. Though apparently there was 7 or so versions of Donna's wedding dress..

Yes, well, a wedding dress is more apt to being destroyed in the action of filming a science-fiction television show than a spacesuit. They needed that many in case some of them got ruined.
