Episode 18

The End of Time

Episode Location:  Earth?
Aliens/Enemies:  Unknown, the Master
New Characters:  Wilf, Sylvia, Donna, Verity, Joshua,
Gadgets Used:  TARDIS,
Episode Objective:  Unknown

Some words that appear in the final special are: "The Gate and Naismith", "Partisan", "Carnival", "Beijing", and the phrase "something is coming"

Euros Lyn said he showed the regeneration scene to composer Murray Gold, who bawled like a baby!

John Simm really is coming back, and Timothy Dalton is also guest-starring.

Filming
Apart from the scenes which are given a number, I really have no idea which ones fit into episode 17 or 18... or what order they appear in. I'm just guessing :)

Scene 130
The Filming in Tredegar House seems to be some sort of formal occasion (I've heard wedding quite a few times). Black clad guards in camo gear wander around patrolling the building.

Scene ??
Since there was quite a bit of filming inside the house, we can assume there are some extensive scenes going on there!

The only thing we know about it is that apparently someone inside was "tied to a chair", and that John Simm was seen leaving the set. So some Master trickery going on?

Scene ??
All the guests of the house run outside, screaming in a panic. One of them (who we know is called Joshua) falls to his knees on the grass and looks up at the sky in shock.

The woman who is with him (called Abigail) stands with him for a moment, but when he doesn't respond she also runs away.

These scenes were also caught on film:

More exciting, a giant wind machine was being used to create a flurry of dust and leaves which is apparently simulating a spaceship landing on the lawn.

As you can see in one of the videos, some of the people running out of the house are wearing what looks like white scientist coats - so I wonder whats going on in there!

Scene ??
As well as this there was a short scene filmed inside the stables. People were seen moving hay into the stables but the actual scene was inside. At the end of it the Doctor and Wilf run outside looking anxious.

Scene ??
Back at the Nobles house, Wilf and the Doctor stand outside the TARDIS in the rain. Just before leaving, the Doctor says to Wilf something like "This is not the end, we will meet again."

Wilf asks the Doctor where he's going, but the reply was very quiet, so theres no garuntee of its accuracy. But apparently it sounded like: "I'm off to have my revenge".

The Doctor then leaves in the TARDIS.

Scene 139
A scene was filmed with the neighbors running around in panic, screaming, while Sylvia looks up into the sky.

Here's a video of it courtesy of Ahremsee

The direction from the walkie talkie was "Look into the sky, theres a red ball of flame. Your scared, more scared! Its all gone grey." During this someone shouts "Donna!".

Scene ??
I'm really not sure where this fits into anything, but set reporters heard Donna shouting from inside her house, "Im scared, Im scared!" and screaming.

Scene 147
Once again in the street, there's a big close up on Sylvia. The camera pans down and she's looking half-happy, half-tearful. The extras in the background are now hugging and rejoicing. Whatever the danger was, its obviously been stopped.

Scene 153
Luke is walking along talking on his phone, not looking when he crosses the road. Because of this he almost gets run over but the Doctor appears, grabs him and pushes him back onto the pavement.

In shock, Luke realizes who he is. The Doctor says a few words to Luke and then starts to walk away.

"It's you...!"

Luke runs across the road shouting "Mum! Mum!". Sarah Jane runs out the driveway.

Luke says "Mum, it's him. It's the Doctor" and they both stand and watch the Doctor walk back to the TARDIS.

As he gets to the TARDIS, he turns around and waves at her. In turn she starts crying.

Ahremsee has captured a beautiful video of this moment:

Scene 155
Set in a bookstore, present day earth and an author called Verity Newman is signing her book: A Journal of Impossible Things.

A customer steps up to have his book signed, and its the Doctor. He has a short conversation with Verity, with a sad but stern expression on his face. Then he turns and walks away.

Oh, and guess who's playing Verity?
Jessica Hynes who played Joan Redfern!

We've seen the Journal of Impossible things before as John Smith's diary in Human Nature/Family of Blood. And seeing as how Jessica Heins as the book, we can maybe guess that the book was passed down her family...?

Other scenes
There are some scenes that I simply had no idea where they could belong (ep 17 or 18) so I made a new section for them here.

And remember, I've completely guessed the order of these scenes, except the ones that are numbered, so I could be very very wrong!

It isnt just the Master that is returning and presuming by the spaceship that is presumed to land i suppose what better way to make the doctor regenerate to have the Daleks or another recurring long time villain. Something tells me though that although the Master is returning that the Rani will be the main villain for this episode kind of like the original main villain of the daleks was Davros.

The person tied to the chair is most likely Wilf as he is later seen running out of the house.

This is just a suggestion. But what if Donna is marrying the Master and the Doctor is there to stop it. Let`s hope this sin`t true otherwise Donna is in real danger

What is sarah-jane doing there ???? it seems a little pointless, unless Martha and c.Jack make an appearance, I sorta hope Rose pops up just so we can find out whats going on with her and handy :-)

POTENTIAL SPOILER

Believe it or not but i managed to get a hold of a snippet of script from one of the specials and a part i read was about gallifrey??gallifrey flies back into the earths atmosphere. in the last two specials-which would explain the stage direction, about the glowing hot sphere entering the earths skys???

Also at the ned of planet of the dead that woman says it is returning through the dark??? (make of it what you will)

And before you ask me were i got part of the script, try imdb.

Wow, Donna, Wilf, Sarah Jane, Luke (I heard Martha and Jack too) and the Master? Sounds like the finale of the last series, but with the Master instead of the Daleks this time. I'll be tuning in though, very excited!

Maybe Donna has regenerated the Master somehow using the ring at the end of Season 3, but she doesn't realise that he's a timelord. The two plan to get married, but the Doctor must stop the master revealing his true identity as Donna would remember Timelord and combust...???

I see you have a picture of Simon Pegg dressed in black walking, any idea what he's doing in the show? He must cost a fortune...

Incret, have you had your eyes tested at all ?

Is it possible that the Sarah Jane scenes are part of The Sarah Jane Adventures, and not Doctor Who? RTD has gone on record saying that their are going to be extra little bits of Doctor Who throughout the year but would not comment on what. Maybe this is the 10th Doctor saying goodbye in an episode of Sarah Jane. Any thoughts?

As far as I know, the Sarah Jane scenes are for Doctor Who.. I think it was the Doctor Who filming unit there rather than the Sarah Jane one.

Just watching Human Nature being repeated on BBC 3 and spotted something very interesting.

The book the human Doctor/John Smith wrote about his "dreams" of life as The Doctor was titled "A Journal of Impossible Things" just like Verity's book and of course, John Smith gave this book to Joan Redfern to read. :-O

*Theory*
Maybe...the book has been passed down through Redfern's family and is now being published which presumably, The Doctor isn't too pleased about. It would explain Hynes' return.

Has anyone else noticed this before and I'm just being slow?

Jess said...

I've noticed it before but I just realized that I didn't make any reference to it in the actual post!

There's also a theory that this book somehow ties in with the "fighting the future" book, though that might be a stretch.

It is returning thro' the dark, he will knock four times, your song is ending soon....
I have it on good authority what will happen in DT's last episodes:
The Devil last seen in The Satan Pit will be returning thro the dark. You may recall that the Ood were directly influenced by the Devil in this episode and that Ood Sigma has been spotted in filming in more than one of the specials.
The Ood have also referred to Donna's song ending soon in The Planet of the Ood episode and will advise DT of the same.
The Devil will be responsible for the apparitions of a number of DT's enemys: the Master, the Graske and others from Gallifrey to name a few which have been identified in filming.
Lastly, the regeneration from DT to MS will be implied but not actually be shown as in CE to DT and the Master's regen.
Remember you read it here first!

I have it on good authority that the above comment is a load of crap.

The Devil is most likely dead so the 'it' returning through the dark can be Gallifrey.

About the Rani, that could be the mysterious lady in red, who has been seen on set.

I'm so exited about this i could blow and go around the world in 1 day quicker then Jackie Chan did in in around the world in 80 days!

Thank you thank you Gallifrey Girl! I discovered your blog last year through your old YT account, but lost it when it was closed. Till now. W/o doubt, you've got the best DW spoiler site on the web I've seen. I love it. And thanks for the End of Time (both eps) info, photos, vids. This gives a great sense of what's gonna happen, much of it anyway. I agree w/one of the other posters, I hope Billie's screentime is more than just younger Rose meeting the Doctor in 05 before she meets Eccleston and I'm a bit peeved there's no Freema in this. She wasn't used well in S4, except in SE and JE, though it isn't like @ 1 time she wasn't in love w/the Doctor too. I guess blame her contract w/Law and Order. :(
