A new Doctor was born! David Tennant - star of Casanova upon many - zoomed onto our screens! Many fans were not too happy by this change. Who was this man? Would he be good?
The Tenth Doctor was given a Christmas special as his opening episode. The Christmas Invasion was broadcast on the 25th December, and watched by a massive 9.84 million viewers. A definitely healthy start to the Tenth Doctor's era.
In 2006, Series Two began - seeing Rose and her new Doctor battle the Sisters of Plenitude and Cassandra on New Earth, a Werewolf in Scotland, Krillitanes in a school, Cybermen in on Parallel Earth...
...an evil television in the 1950s, Satan himself, an Abzorbaloff, drawings which come alive and the epic battle between the Daleks and the Cybermen...
The Doctor was separated from the love of his life. But he was greeted with a surprise on board the TARDIS!
Catherine Tate joined David Tennant as the snappy bride, Donna Noble, in the second Christmas special. After battling a giant spider called the Queen of the Racnoss, Donna was offered the chance to travel with the Doctor, but she declined. But it didn't matter, because a whole new adventure was about to begin...
Series Three saw the Tenth Doctor and new companion Martha Jones battle Judoon on the Moon, witches in Shakespearian England, Macra on New Earth, Daleks in Manhattan, a genetically modified monster...
...the Sun itself, Scarecrows and the Family of Blood, Weeping Angels, and his biggest enemy yet...
The deadly triple bill saw John Simm's Master take over the Earth, leaving Martha Jones to save everyone. The Doctor was left alone, helpless and weak... but he patched into the world's telepathic link and used it to heal himself. Even though the Master had caused so much pain, he was the last Time Lord left with the Doctor. The Doctor didn't want him to die, but his abused wife delivered the final blow...
Martha left the Doctor, who understood her reason. And then something extraordinary happened... twice! The Titanic crashed into the TARDIS! But moments before, we were treated to this amazing Children in Need clip. The meeting of the Fifth and Tenth Doctors!
Voyage of the Damned saw David Tennant team up with Kylie Minogue in the ultimate disaster movie, gaining a massive 13.31 million viewers!
Series Four arrived with a bang in 2008, bringing back Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. The team proved fantastic, after battling hordes of Adipose, Pyroviles in Pompeii, Ood, Sontarans, Hath, a giant wasp...
But then danger approached, much bigger than before. The Doctor was faced with his deadliest enemies in a fight to save the whole universe. Joined by Donna, Martha, Rose, Jack, Mickey, Jackie and Sarah Jane, they defeated Davros and the Daleks. But something else came about too. Donna Noble was seen to be the most important woman in the Universe, becoming the DoctorDonna... but at a cost.
The Doctor was left alone again...
We saw him battle Cyberman again, in the 2008 Christmas Special, The Next Doctor.
In the same year, David Tennant had announced he was leaving. The country gasped in horror - he was their favourite Doctor!
Then came 2009, and brought change! Instead of a whole series, we were getting four specials. In Easter, we saw the Doctor team up with Lady Christina in Planet of the Dead...
But then we all knew something bad was coming. The Doctor was told by Carmen -
"Your song is ending, sir... he will knock four times..."
November saw the Doctor visit a base on Mars, which proved to be the scariest episode yet. And the Doctor did something terrible - he changed time. And then he saw Ood Sigma in the snow. He knew he was going to die...
The Tenth Doctor's last episodes aired over Christmas and New Year's Day - proving to be the most tearjerking ever. And then the Doctor regenerated...
Goodbye David Tennant,

This was lovely!! Well done!
Ten--I love you so much, you will be very, very deeply missed. You were... brilliant, always. You had me from 'new teeth', and you always will. It shows a lot of honour and nobility to sacrifice yourself to save an old man, but that's who you are, and it made me love you even more. I would say rest in peace, but I know that rest isn't what you want. I hope there are bananas and adventures in the afterlife for you.
David--You were brilliant, honestly. Thank you for making me love Doctor Who. Ten was incredible from beginning to end, and I know I am one of many to say that you will always be MY Doctor. Your decision broke my heart, but I do respect it, and I can't wait to see you in whatever you're doing next.
Student, it was because he absorbed all that energy in the chamber thingy. It had to release somehow.
Who was the old lady visiting Bernard all show long? Was it an old Rose?
They don't tell us - and will never tell us - who the woman was. It can't be Rose because the woman was a Time Lady :p It's most likely the Doctor's mother or Susan or Romana.
Mac,I had the feeling it was the Doctors Mother.Especially when they made eye contact in the mansion and the way she was trying to protect him.You could see there was a special bond between them.
Great...I forgot my Google account information..
That was beautiful. Well done! I'm gonna miss the Tenth Doctor so very much! I'm STILL in mourning! During his run was when I became obsessed with the show that I didn't see it as a TV show anymore, but an adventure I would go on episode after episode, and the Doctor took me there. So seeing him "die" was like watching a friend "die."
David Tennant was completely amazing and the main reason I am going to miss him so much was because of the passion and dedication and love he had for the role. He was brilliant!
the old lady who kept on visiting wilf is the doctors mum....i saw it on wikipedia
-sobs- Bye David, my first doctor, I will miss you!! :(
I thought the "TimeLady" was the DonnaDoctor fixed somehow or the White Guardian.
When Wilf asked who she was he looked behind Wilf at the house Donna was in.
why have i only seen 1 post on all the forums saying the lady could be his wife, its every bit as plausible as her being his mother, she has a need to protect him as any wife would and he has said on more than one occation that he had a family before he ended the time war.
I'm thinking the woman could be the Doctor's Gallifreyan wife.
in the official doctor who magazine russel t davies says that the time lady was intended to be the doctors mother, hope that clears it up
The Film version with the 8th Doctor announced that the doctors mother was human
Could David Tennantt be anymore adorable? No. No he could not.
The Doctor Was Born from a loom so he had no mother.
:putnam:Lord Master out.
