Episode guide - 1st Doctor

Series 1

1. An Unearthly Child - Susan's teachers, Ian Chesterson and Barbra Wright follow her home and meet the Doctor, who takes them back to the stone age.
2. The Daleks - The team land on the planet Skaro and meet the beautiful Thals, and horrific Daleks. When they lose an important part of the TARDIS in the Dalek city, they must convince the pacifistic Thals to help them.
3. The Edge of Destruction - The travelers find themselves trapped in the craft. Strange occurrences cause them to suspect the TARDIS has been infiltrated or worse — that one of the crew members has sabotaged.
4. Marco Polo - Central Asia 1289, the team fall in with Marco Polo as his caravan makes its way to Peking at the height of its imperial power.
5. The Keys of Marinus - Marinus is under threat from the evil Voord. The only hope of stopping them is to find the hidden keys to a machine known as the Conscience of Marinus.
6. The Aztecs - The crew to encounter the doomed Aztec people, a mixture of high culture and brutal savagery. Barbra is mistaken for a god, and the Doctor becomes engaged to be married
7. The Sensorites - The TARDIS arrives on board a spaceship where the human crew are suffering from telepathic interference from the Sensorites.
8. The Reign of Terror - The TARDIS sets down in a wood near Paris in the year 1794: the height of the French Revolution. The four travelers are soon dragged into spy rings and escape chains, but who can be trusted?

Series 2

1. Planet of Giants - The team land in a strange world where insects grow to enormous size. When Ian discovers a giant matchbox, they realise that they have arrived on Earth but have shrunk in size to mere inches.
2. The Dalek Invasion of Earth - The Doctor has brought his companions to Earth, 200 years in their future. Trapped in a deserted London, they discover that Earth has been conquered by their old enemies — the Daleks.
3. The Rescue - The Doctor, Ian & Barbara land on the planet Dido, where survivors from a doomed spaceship are threatened by a mysterious being known as Koquillion.
4. The Romans - The Doctor, Barbara, Ian and Viki become involved in the intrigues of the court of the mad Emperor Nero.
5. The Web Planet - The TARDIS is trapped on the world of Vortis. The team are soon swept up in the struggles of the butterfly-like Menoptra.
6. The Crusade - The Doctor and his companions become ensnared in the political struggles between Richard the Lionheart and Saladin.
7. The Space Museum - The team experience something strange after they land on the planet Xeros. Shattered glass mends itself, everything is silent and, inside a gigantic museum, they find something even more alarming: themselves.
8. The Chase - The Doctor and his companions are hunted by time-traveling Daleks throughout space and time.
9. The Time Meddler - The Doctor, Viki, and new companion Steven Taylor arrive in Northumbri. It is 1066, and the hand of a mysterious Monk is at work in the nearby monastery.

Series 3

1. Galaxy 4 - The Doctor, Viki & Steven land on an unknown planet where the Rills and the Drahvins have crashlanded. The Drahvins try to enlist the Doctor's help to destroy the "evil" Rills, but who are the real villains?
2. Mission to the Unknown - On the planet Kembel three men struggle to repair their crashed spaceship in a hostile jungle.
3. The Myth Makers - The team become involved in the seige of Troy. The story alters the fates of a few characters from the original literature. Vicki remains behind and Katarina joins the Doctor.
4. The Dalek's Master Plan - In the year 4000, the Daleks conspire to conquer the Solar System. Their scheme involves treachery at the highest levels, and a weapon capable of destroying the very fabric of time.
5. The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve - The TARDIS materializes in Paris 1572 and Steven is befriended by a group of Huguenots from the household of the Protestant Admiral de Coligny. The Huguenots gain their first inkling of a heinous plan being hatched at the command of the Catholic Queen Mother.
6. The Ark - The team arrive some 100,000 years into the future, on board a generation ship which is carrying the last of humanity away from a doomed Earth.
7. The Celestial Toymaker - The team arrive in a strange domain ruled by the Celestial Toymaker — an enigmatic, immortal entity who forces them to play a series of games, failure at which will render them his playthings.
8. The Gunfighters - The TARDIS arrives in Arizona and the Doctor, having hurt a tooth on a sweet, decides he must visit the local dentist, who happens to be engaged in a feud with the Clanton family.
9. The Savages - The TARDIS has arrived on a distant and seemingly idyllic world, but the team discover that it hides a secret: the apparently civilised Elders maintain their advanced society through a most unethical means.
10. The War Machines - The Doctor & Dodo arrive in 1966 London and see WOTAN, an advanced computer that is supposed to link up with computer systems worldwide. However, WOTAN has plans of its own.

Series 4

1. The Smugglers - The Doctor arrives on the coast of 17th century Cornwall, much to the astonishment of Polly & Ben. Pirates are searching for a hidden treasure, while a smuggling ring masterminded by the local Squire is trying to off-load contraband.
2. The Tenth Planet - It is 1986, and Earth's sister planet has come home, bringing with it the emotionless, unstoppable Cybermen.
