Whayhey! First alien planet for Donna, she must feel so happy that its freezing cold and covered in ice and snow...
Oh, and also full of strange octopus/squid/psychic/alien... things. Yes, the Ood are back! Although they apparently remind Donna of her cat. But, I have to say, it doesn't look like they're having a fun time.
This one was seen writhing in its chains.

Extract from DWM
"Doctor get me out!" screams Donna Noble from inside a giant, blue, metal container....
"If you don't do what she says," the Doctor barks at some men with guns, "you're really in trouble. Not from me, from her!"
As well as Donna being locked away, we also have her, the Doctor, and another woman running away through the same blue crates and dodging gunfire.
But from what I can make out, the trio get separated... and the Doctor is left on his own, running for his life. Here we have him rolling violently across the floor as he falls.
And there is a strange machine claw thing that is attached to the ceiling which strikes down towards him as he runs past...
After that, the Doctor and Donna are lovingly locked up in a cage. Although, this could actually happen before all the running about. Who knows? Certainly not me!
And here are some soldiers... possibly the same ones that were shooting at the Doctor and Donna, this seams quite likely since one of them was seen cackling away in a most evil manner.
And thanks to the new trailer, we can see what they're pointing their guns at:
An Ood, who turns sharply round to look at them, its eyes glowing and making a strange strangling noise.
From what I can make out, there is definitely something going on with the Ood, what with the glowing red eyes and men running around with guns... OR is there another, greater threat altogether?
Speculations:
- It may contain a character named Sawahla, who plays a major part in the episode, and may possibly be an Ood herself.

Ood Sphere = Sensesphere? The Sensorites look a bit like the Ood, minus tentacles, and they had psychic powers and communicated with ball on string too. - were the Ood, or will they become, the Sensorites?
if they are at all related to the senerites then the senserites must have evolved in to the ood not the other way around because this is speculated to be from before the impssible planet/the satan pit

Maybe it's the claw machine thingy that is shooting at the Doc. I also looked at the picture of the Doc, Donna and the woman running from gunfire and indeed there appears to be 3 Oods. Look closely.
Maybe... but in the trailer it looks like the claw makes a grab for the Doctor, and the guards do have guns...

Hey the picture of donna in the cage thing is from this episode because there is ice on the bars and maybe donna is upset because it is her first alien planet or somthing like that.
Yep. Its been mentioned before and it could indeed be from this episode... but Donna has a feather in her hair (or it looks like a feather) which sort of made me hesitant to add it.
Maybe the feather is just ice in the background of the cage.
If you look at the feather thing closely there seems to be be what looks extremely like a face!?

Yes, the soldiers could indeed by UNIT... although the UNIT soldiers that are appearing later on have a red hat as pert of their uniform. Plus, since this is on another planet, and UNIT are based on Earth.
Um, the Doctor could have made the black hole... thats an interesting idea. But I assumed that the Bitter Pill was a completely different planet to the Ood Sphere... hmmm, we shall have to see I suppose.
Since the "Best Doctor" Poll is going well the 10th Doctor's way, might I suggest the "Tenth Doctor-Scattered" video from YouTube. It's well good. Also for the next poll might I suggest "The Best Davros Storyline", since Davros is highly rumoured. Oh, and how about a mini pool entitled "If you were the 10th Doctor, who would you have as your companion?" and the answeres being "Rose, Martha or Donna". This loooks like the best alien planet portrayed on New Doctor Who, heck all Doctor Who! Fair enough they didn't have the same technology in the 70's and 80's but the outdoor shots here look fantastic!
And I can't wait to see what the Ood are up to!
Yeahh, I wanna know what the Ood are up to aswell. Well, the Ood's eyes are red (hang on, RED? wait, the arc is normally mentioned innit. innit?). Anyway, because of the Ood's red eyes could mean that they've been possesed. And you've said that "there could be a greater enemy". Well if this is set BEFORE the Impossible Planet/Satan's Pit, then could the Ood be possesed by the Beast? I mean, if it's before, then the Beast hasn't died yet. And the Beast could be on Krop Tor and send a possesion signal or something. Then at the end of the episode, the OodSphere team could investigate, leading to the Impossible Planet. And the "laughing man" who has the big gun could be possesed by, or even be a worshiper of, the Beast.
The thing in donna's hair looks like a blue and green braid, not a feather.

Hey Jess, to glisten up the pages, why don't you put the Ood Teaser Trailer on this page. also you could put the sontaran teaser on, well, the sontaran stratagem, and the dalek teaser on either 11, 12, 13 or the finale page. or maybe even all of them to glisten them all up!
You know the claw thing it definetly is in the sontaran two parter because its not ood in the background its the sontaran and i noticed on the barrel thing when the doctor running its got the same sybol as in the first trailer when the sontaran take of his mask at about 53 seconds.I think that makes much more sense.
By the way this website is amazing.
I originally put the claw and running scenes in The Sontaran Stratagem, but I think that they do belong in Planet of the Ood... Donna is wearing her winter coat - perfect for a cold planet.
I just had a strange thought what if planet of the ood and sontaran strategen was a two part then the sontaran could of cloned the ood so they are all the same although practically all the monsters are the same. lol soz went a bit mad with ideas.

THe claw is definitely in Planet of the Ood because on the DVD cover 4 episodes 1, 2 and 3, those barrels that the claw smashes into are on the cover and the Sontaran Stratagem is not on that DVD.

I paused the "next time" trailer released today at one scene. An ood had a machine gun if you look closely in the scene where you hear the guy yelling "shoot to kill!"
two things 1st the donna feather pic is from this ep coz on the doc who site its the picture that goes with the episode clip 2nd i reckon that sawahla or woteva is that woman who asks if the doc and don are married on the trailer we'll hav to wait and see....
i think this ep will go something along the lines of the doc and donna investigating the enslavement of the ood. somehow when they find out that the ood are being controlled by drugs? they interviene and get in a little over their heads. nothing really new here. as for the feather, its not, its just green lighting from the left of the shot hitting her hair. im not expecting too much from this ep, but the next should be a good one!

Has anyone else noticed that the Ood head looks a little bit like a dalek (the creature inside the unit I mean)? They look a bit like Dalek Sek did when he became half human

The picture with Donna behind the bars doesn't look like sh's really behind bars to me.
Because, if you look in the background, near the middle of the far left-hand side, you can see a shadow and light like a door being opened/shut. Said shadow does not look Ood-like to me, and I don't think Donna would just stand there in a cell while the door was open, unless there was something very strange out the [window?].
To me, it looks more like she's maybe looking at the Doctor cos he's the one behind bars. And, if you compare the pic of Donna 'behind' bars, and the one of the Doctor behind bars, Donnas' looks too big to be really called a cell.
Just something I noticed. Any ideas on the Shadow Person? I dunno, maybe it is the Doctor... Does look like his trench-coat.

didnt anyone know the ood and the sensorites were from the same area, when the ood first appeared in series 2 RTD said they were sort of brother races, like the slitheens and the abzorbaloff thing r brother races. i wonder if the sensorites will reapear sumwhen, that would be a good story, ag well time will tell, always does
There could be an arc about planet dissapearence. Adipose breeding planet, LOST. Pyrovillia, LOST. Original Ood Planet, LOST. Sontar, LOST? And the bees dissapearence? Well that could be done with the void. The Daleks would have had to come out of the void, so would the Cybermen for the Crimbo Special. And the Genesis Ark containing Davros could be a possibility, couldn't it. But the void doesn't let things out, it lets things IN aswell. The dissapearing planets and the bees dissapearence could be linked with the void. The void could be sucking in the universe, also letting Rose, Mickey etc through from the paralell world.
I'm not a softie, but the Ood-Song was beautiful.
