Planet Gallifrey: Curses!

Curses!

Gak!
This be the new BBC blurb for Silence in the Library:

One hundred years ago, the universe's greatest library was sealed off, leaving only one warning: "Count the shadows". But now, the shadows are moving again... the Doctor and Donna must uncover the terrible truth behind the Nodes and the horrifying Data Ghost, to find the library's secret.

But apparently that doesn't matter since we'll have to wait an extra week for it anyway! Yup, the Eurovision Song Contest has taken the Who limelight again.

Damn them all!

Feel free to leave comments venting your frustration, (anger is sometimes good therapy, and these are hard times) but no swear words please.

AAAGH! this means that each episode will be moved forward a week which will result in me missing the finale!!! i can't take it! thank god for iplayer though

at first i was like ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! but just seen my calender for the next 2 months and it fits perfectly for me! yay!

arghhh omg one year is bad enough i mean the bbc are going to get way more viewers showing doctor who compared to the eurovision!

I like Eurovision, so I don't mind.

At least the series won't end sooner. ;)

DARN THEM! DARN THEM ALL TO HECK! Which Idiot invented the Eurovision Sonog Contest!

Gaz said...

Why are people saying that Eurovision shouldn't exist? It is extremely popular. Besides, if you stopped it, you would be taking away jobs & entertainment!

You don't have to like it, but some people do.

substituting the bbc flagship show for something nobody watches? doesnt someone need firing over this?

Jess said...

Gaz, no one is saying that Eurovision shouldn't exist, they're merely resenting the fact that the BBC chose to postpone Doctor Who because of it.

Anonymous said...

Why can't Eurovision just take a different time slot! Wait, I really don't care. Youtube, plus the fact that Sci-Fi channel is showing the episodes 3 weeks behind here in America makes it fine. Maybe Sci-Fi will actually be able to catch up! YAY!

Why couldn't the BBC put Doctor Who on red button or BBC 3 or BBC 2! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?

SNBCSinger said...

Well, blast it all! How could they?

Oh, wait. I'm in the states. I guess it gives us a week to catch up but it's not like I watch it here. The SciFi channel doesn't understand the concept of proper editing for commercials. They leave quite a few things out.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe it! I would most certainly choose Doctor Who over Terry Wogan and high pitched, ridiculous singing! Curses!

BOOOO!

Well said, vawhovian, they cut too much stuff.

Eurovision again?! Great, have to wait an extra week, don't know why they put Eurovision on as Doctor Who is one of the highest rated programs on the BBC! But we'll probably get a new trailer, like after 42 when we saw loads of new clips from the last eps.

Eurovision is okay, I find it boring, prefer more Sci-Fi, and Gaz how not having it will take away entertainment (and jobs)? There's more interesting TV shows. And how won't it end sooner, okay, it'll be a week later but everyone wants to see it sooner.

Gaz said...

Anonymous,

It will take away jobs because people work on it all year round. They won't have a job if they stop it. And it will take away entertainment because it entertains people (it is very popular i other European countries).

Oh, and it's shown over here because the U.K. helps fund it.

Anonymous said...

its so unfair the way U.K get in automatically cus they started it. come on dustin the turkey! o **** my countries hopes are resting on a turkey puppet

Anonymous said...

Hey, at least they'll show a trailer for the next 7 episodes, maybe they'll show the Daleks, or even Davros!

Anonymous said...

Even so, that's still a couple of weeks away. Unless every episode list I've seen is wrong, we still get the Agatha Christie/Giant Wasp episode between now and then.

Anonymous said...

i sent an e-mail to the doctor who website asking if this is true and they said it's not true .It said doctor who will be on early again so yeppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

n.t. said...

what's not true?

Anonymous said...

that eurovison is taking doctor who's time slot-not true

Anonymous said...

so there is no cancellation of doctor who... you sure?

Anonymous said...

anonymous is in denial

I just watched the episode on youtube, and the announcer during the credits said next week's episode would be at the later time of SEVEN. NOT pushed back a week. We've all been getting worked up over an extra 40 minutes of waiting!

Anonymous said...

in a way it will be a good thing, remmember last year the way they showed a longer trailer for multiple episodes? so? they will show us some finalie scenes and hopefully davros

Gem-dawg: The Eurovision song contest is not next week (the Unicorn and the Wasp) its on the week after (Silence in the Library) so it is still a possibility that we'll miss it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
whoopee-doo.
be happy you only have to wait three weeks.
Going by the previous seasons, Australia's going to have to to wait at least four or five months for it to air
Robit said...
EVERYONE IM SO ANGRYYYYYYYY LETS START A PROTEST
Anonymous said...
But gem-dawg, next week was still meant to be on next week. It was the one AFTER next weeks that is cancelled.
BBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
;(
Anonymous said...
WAIT! if the euro vision song things on at 7:00, Why dont they just show doctor who at 6:15?
Anonymous said...
cus theyre all insane. INSANE I TELL YE!
Anonymous said...
Well, at least, the whole show will end a week later :), so it'll stretch for longer. That's the only consolation :(
Let's have a survey:
If you would rather see Dr.Who, say yes.
If you would rather see Eurovision, Jump out of a window.
Actually, let's not bother with a suvey. We all know what the answer to it will be.
DR. WHO!!!!!!!
"They should put that singing thing that we never win on sunday"
It's broadcast live.
SNBCSinger said...
I wonder when they're going to air the mid-series trailer...
Jess said...
It'll probably be after the next episode - The Unicorn and the Wasp.
SNBCSinger said...
Fantastic! After all the spoiler pictures I've seen from the last episodes, I know it's going to be good.
Anonymous said...
I e-mailed the BBC yesterday on this topic, but they have not yet replied! They'd better not be long in replying!
Anonymous said...
And I call myself a Doctor Who fan, getting the episodes mixed up like that! BAD ME! Sorry, I confused TUATW with SITL. (Acronyms, much shorter and easier way to type the episode names :D)
A terrible curse on the tv schedule
BASTARDS may they explode and splatter their entrails all over the walls and the ceiling.
"Hey! Previous Comment person! I thought the message was no swearing!!!!"
Anonymous said...
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Why don't they just put Dr Who on at a different time or put eurovision on BBC 2?
LilyReg said...
I agree with Gaz when he says:
At least the series won't end sooner. ;)
Because I want it to last, well as long as it can.
As when it's over, the only series we get next year is 3 episodes !
Although on the other hand, we'll be missing out on Doctor Who for a week. Which I am not happy with.
Lily, :)
WTF?!?! First they rob poor old Cliff Richard from his title a million years ago now they put Doctor Who off for a week for it - Tell the "Beeb" (Loved your little 'bee' tie in with the BBC btw Jess!) to air Dr Who then put the crap obviously 'rigged' music show on! Meh - I thought I had it bad in Australia - however this interrupts my viewing of the new season on Youtube for a week!
Anonymous said...
Just checked the Eurovison song contest website and it says that it will be on at 8pm on BBC 1, so whether they will show Doctor Who before hand, i do not know!!!
