Oooo sounds fun! It's going to be a good episode from the looks of things

Anonymous said...

Secret army? Presumably this is all the old companions. Bring it on.

The Stolen Earth?
OMG!!! Pete's world!

Anonymous said...

where exactly did you find this?

Jess said...

Its the official press release from the BBC, released just today.

So they move our earth thus breaking the closed link with Rose's universe and opening it up!Old enemy Davros? mabe they are in allience with..something else as well? Would love to see the Brig turn up...after all he has been earths greatest hero before! What a way to see in the 45 birthday! BRING IT ON...!

Spacephantom said...

Sounds like a great episode, but it doesn't really say much we didn't know already or couldn't have guessed.

What exactly was the point of keeping the title secret all that time and then releasing it a couple of weeks before the episode is shown? They should have either kept it a secret until we had seen "Turn Left", or released it at the beginning of the series with the others, in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

the point is so russell and co can sit in front of their computers laughing at crazy speculation

Unknown said...

The Stolen Earth?? I don't get why Russell was making such a big deal out of that.

Spacephantom said...

I think Scootle has probably got it spot on.

Anonymous said...

It would have been a spoiler to know before the beginning of the series that Earth is stolen, and even after the first couple of episodes it was still just speculation. And I'm sure they would have liked to have keep it secret up until after Turn Left, but the BBC Press Office releases episode information weeks in advance, and frequently gives away some pretty big spoilers in doing so, so I guess they just don't care.

Anonymous said...

You know, I'll be really happy if we start watching "The Stolen Earth" just to see a completely different title in the opening ;)

Anonymous said...

Can't wait for the finale episodes - 'The Stolen Earth' will be great!

I suppose the title would have indicated the sontarans failing in their two parter but I can't really see any other reason for not saying the name earlier!

I wonder who or what the shadow proclamation are - I have always believed they are a lie or have a twist, maybe they are the daleks!

Kelsey said...

OoooooOOOOOOOOoooooh! This is gonna be interesting...

Though I don't think it's such a big deal it needed to be kept a secret. I mean, we know Rose comes back, we know somebody dies, we know Davros is back, we know the Doctor is somehow injured, we know that the FREAKING STARS GO OUT... might as well know that the Earth is stolen! Well, we also know that the Judoon are coming back - hah, watch it suddenly start raining up globally, and then - FWOOOSH! - HUMAN. HUMAN. NOT HUMAN.

At any rate, funny - I've never wondered what the Shadow Proclamation is. I'd always just assumed it was a universal code of behavior - sort of like the Geneva Conventions and some such.

Anonymous said...

kelsey i thought it wasnt 100% confirmed that davros is back and that it was still speculation?

the toy sets will be (re)named to this i think. so was "war of skaro" a fake name by the bbc? sylvester mccoy predicted it correctly, then changed to skaro after the toy set was announced lol, so he was right before he was wrong (and he is generally wrong). it is a better name for the story :)

StormWolf said...

Oh my, "The Stolen Earth". Well, Rose's ability to get to this universe without, you know, destroying existence as we know it makes sense now.

And now, I'm on FULL excitement mode. Squee!

Anonymous said...

Pfft, I bet if this were series 1, you lot'd be saying you couldn't understand why they didn't reveal episode 12 as "Bad Wolf" earlier.

MadeInScotland said...

who is to say The Stolen Earth is going to be the actual transmission title? Not beyond the Beeb to release the PR info calling it one thing, and for the transmission having it called something else...

Shadow Proclamation ... Stay out of the shadows ... connection, perhaps?

when will the synopsis for Journeys End be released?

n.t. said...

YEAHHHH!

Anonymous said...

This means that the story arc, which we knew to be the darkness, is also the Shadow Proclamation, because they said that it went all the way back to the first episode! And what did the Doctor use to seek audience with the Nestene Consciousness?

Anonymous said...

maybe the judoon(who according to monster files) are working with/for the shadow proclamation make it rain up and steal the earth like they stole the hospital

Jess said...

From what I've heard, the Shadow Proclamation isn't the one thats taking the planets, its the one thats giving refuge to those whose planets have been lost (Adipose, Slitheen etc)

Although theres probably something sinister about them, otherwise the Doctor and Donna wouldn't have to brave them.

Anonymous said...

i think the shadow proclamation was set up after the timewar, to control things and keep moderate peace as the timelords did, or to prevent another timewar.

Anonymous said...

Up until now I always thought the Shadow Proclamation was just a plot device the writers used to explain why aliens couldn't do certain things (like bomb the earth outright). I agree with the posters above that it sounds a lot like an intergalactic UN, although I think it is no coincidence the press releases says an old enemy is waiting "in the shadows"?

Wasn't there a UN meeting at Davros earlier this year? :)

Anyway, my question is: Where are all the Daleks coming from? My first guess is Davros is the one who created the void ship technology from Doomsday and he and the Daleks loyal to him have been hiding in Rose's universe. I'm probably wrong, but I'm not sure where else they could've come from.

Anonymous said...

Oh My Freaking God, squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I cant wait, Im so excited. Thanks Jess!!!

Anonymous said...

would it be too repetitive if there was more than one void ship?

Anonymous said...

I agree, that Shadow Proclamation always did sound like a document according to which aliens could/could not certain things.
I wonder, if there be something else that was seeded from series 1, apart from Shadow Proclamation? It can be Time War, which would fit with what actors/producers been saying how finale is going to be much more than just saving the world.
What could be bigger than saving the world? Ungoing the Time War? Reversing Time? Repairing Time Line?

Anonymous said...

@Walter
Speculation points to the Doctor's sealing the rift in the Medusa Cascade; he might have sealed *something* in it, eh?

@flying girl
I'm afraid this will be just another sequel to the Time War, though I still hope the plot gets a bit deeper than that. The thing I fear the most is that RTD might make the Doctor engage in some wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff and reset the events of the entire series since 2005 in order to give Moffat a fresh start.

"I wonder, if there be something else that was seeded from series 1, apart from Shadow Proclamation?"

The whole "darkness" arc got a bit of a nod (not sure if it was intentional) in the Charles Dickens episode, when Gwyneth said, "The things you've seen... the DARKNESS... the big bad wolf."

Anonymous said...

@knur
I agree, they might do that. Although, I was hoping it can be done without resetting everything back to series 1. I mean, they can undo the Time War, but no events from last 4 years would be lost. It'll be like bringing Time Lords back to right now. Of course, they can still banish the Doctor from Gallifrey for whatever reason, so he'll just go on travelling, which he'll do anyway.
I thought they might do nice story later, when Doctor finds Jenny and (if Gallifrey is back) tries to bring her there. Surely, all Time Lords will turn them away, so it could be some change from fighting aliens all the time.
Anyway, I sort of went off topic...

Perhaps, you're right, they'll just continue the Time war yet again.

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks to WHOmever runs this sight,I wish I knew about it before.I live in the States and didn't watch the show that much til it relaunched in 05 and have been a huge fan since. Thanks to this sight and the T.V one I can watch it within hours of it's broadcast, plus all the spoilers, info, and past episodes.
I heard RTD said something about the arc for this season is something the Master said last season.I just watched The Sound Of Drums again and there was a discussion with the Master and Toclufane(sp)where they were begging him to "Hurry up the darkness is coming" in reference to him helping them come into our time.So the darkness plot has been seeded in several episodes.I think it will be the Master behind all this and pulling all the strings. Thanks Again for this great site.

I wonder if the Judoon fit in by scanning Donna to see if she is human/ alien and finding she has a Rankos spider on her back.....

just a thought!

Anonymous said...

The Shadow Proclamation must be both a kind of universal charter and a body or organisation that governs, enforces, and rules on it. A U.N. for the universe, if you like.

And I can't imagine why you'd think RTD would reset everything back to series 1; there's not the slightest need to. All he needs to do is /resolve/ plotlines - that's not the same as removing them. For all the complaints about reset buttons, the Cybermen/Dalek invasion in series 2 was never erased, the future Dalek invasion from series 1 was never erased, the Master and Toclafane still killed the President, etc. It's just the baggage of a world ruined by the Master that was erased because the rebuilding from that would realistically drag down all Earth-based plotlines for years.

Anonymous said...

I think that it is unlikely that badwolf66's suggestion would be correct because if information about Davros has been leaked, then surely the information would have come with it. What I mean is that we would already know. As for the earth's greatest heroes bit, I wonder who these could be? I am guessing that most of them would be new characters, but isn't Sarah Jane a bit of a hero, and wasn't it speculated that many of the doctor's companions would come back? This could be another return of Sarah Jane, although perhaps we would already know if she was coming back.

Combom said...

...Rankos spider on her back...

the racnoss spider on donnas back (from fires of pompeii)comes from not knowing about the doctor who universe! The METEBELIS THREE spiders do this, there is no evidence the racnoss will also (or are small enough, or can go invisible, etc, etc,). The moral to this story is - stop reading www.sylvestermccoy.com who makes their "facts" up :)

"Although theres probably something sinister about them, otherwise the Doctor and Donna wouldn't have to brave them."

To me they sound like judge jury and executioner to the universe at large. Perhaps since the Time War caused the Time Lords to cease existing, bar a couple loose ends (Mater, Doctor, anyone else they bring back). That would be scary, especially if you play vigilante of sorts like The Doctor. Perhaps he is actually wanted by them. He never does really stick around to see the Shadow Proclamation do their work.

"This could be another return of Sarah Jane, although perhaps we would already know if she was coming back."

We do, it has been stated several times that she said she was along with Jack, Martha, Rose etc. Though more oldies would be great, Jo, The Brig, Yates, Bentonm, Tegan, Nyssa, Grace, Ace, Peri, Adric, Leela, Jamie. Even if just mentioning they were doing things. Though I do understand some of them are not on earth or in the right time zone lol. Though bring Ian into it, that would be great. He's a bit old but it would do a great tribute to The Doctor to have the oldest living companion still wanting to help him today. (The lady who played Barbra passed away and Susan should be dead probably in the show). Plus perhaps other characters from the other shows would be doing things in mention like Luke from SJA and Gwen from Torchwood. Perhaps even make mention of John Hart helping (since James Marsters wasn't allowed on Doctor Who though he wanted to be).

"Speculation points to the Doctor's sealing the rift in the Medusa Cascade; he might have sealed *something* in it, eh?"

Sealed the Cruciform in the Medusa Cascade? The Master said he was there when the Daleks took the Cruciform or something like that. Though that was the Dalek Emperor who took that and not Davros - unless the Master was meaning Davros as he is also an Emperor of the Daleks (or at least certain ones).

Perhaps people will be right though that Caan will go to Davros for help. He is there to think, even though he turned against Sec for thinking himself. Existence of the Dalek race put above the hatred he would have for Davros (being a follower of the Emperor and not Davros).

Earth's greatest hero, Doctor's secret army is for my guess these guys:

UNIT, TORCHWOOD (including Gwen and Ianto, I hope), Rose, Martha, Jack, Sarah Jane, K9 (confirmed???) , Mickey, Jackie , Pete (?), Mike (?), and maybe if she isn't in league with the daleks she's probably against them Harriet Jones, and the Master pulling the strings? I think the master isn't really a guy who would want a new Dalek Empire. (Thought John Simm was reported doing filming maybe he's on the doctor's side).

I'm like a lot of other people in thinking that the Shadow Proclamation was a document or code that our aliens have to adhere to. It's interesting to note that Doctor and Donna have to brave the Shadow Proclamation. Does it mean that they have to do something against the rules and brave some punishment in order to save the world?

Jess said...

What I've been told about the Shadow Proclamation is this:

The Shadow Proclamation is an international UN, run by the Shadow Architects and policed by the Judoon.

When Earth is stolen the Doctor and Donna head for the Shadow Proclamation to find out whats going on. They find it providing refuge for those species whose planets have already disappeared (Adipose & Slitheen)

Hope this helps :)

StormWolf said...

>>UNIT, TORCHWOOD (including Gwen and Ianto, I hope)<<

Oh, me too. For some reason I have this intense desire for Gwen to meet the person Jack meant when he said "the right kind of Doctor."

I just think it would be nice to see, and it would put a nice new dynamic into the next season of Torchwood, for Gwen and Ianto to actually *know* this Doctor that the organization has been studying for ages. It always made me wonder how everyone in Torchwood Three besides Jack could be so clueless on that subject. Especially Ianto. He used to work in Torchwood One for goodness sakes.

Enough of my rambling, though... *cough*

Anonymous said...

Grrr, not the Slitheen again! Um, I don't hate them, just never found them that interesting. Well, maybe they'll just be mentioned.
Wonder if any of the Judoon will recognize the Doctor? Doubt it, they seem to be pretty thick. (Yeah, I'd rather see Judoon than Slitheen :)

Anonymous said...

Is it possible that Davros has infiltrated the Shadow Proclamation, hense the slogan "stay out of the shadows", or is that a little too farfetched?
This would explain why they would have to 'brave' the shadow proclamation, as if it was dangerous!

StormWolf said...

>>Grrr, not the Slitheen again! <<

Yeah, I think I might be a bit Slitheened out myself. But that's alright, I'll live. ;)

I wish they would make another movie but this time tell the story of the Time War and how the 8th Doctor became the 9th.With current special effects and all the talent behind the show being in charge of the movie,It would be great and the only way to tell that story.I think the small screen would not do it justice.I want a Dr.Who movie!God knows Hollywood needs fresh ideas I'm sick of comic book movies, remakes and video game movies

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who thinks that they could make a great Doctor Who video game?

Jess said...

Well, apparently they are, so there you go!

Anonymous said...

They're making a Doctor Who game?

And thank you, anonymous, for asking the question I've been wondering since Series 1.

And I must say that the 3-part/2-part with tie-in finale looks like it's going to be amazing!

Jess, just wanted to apologize for any multiple names from my IP address. Apparently my little brother has been visiting frequently and posting under "Anonymous" or some ridiculous name every time. Sorry about that.

Hi Sam,I posted as anonymous about making a Time War movie (A game would be cool also)I just thought it made sense and you could do so much with that story. You could tell about the Masters involvment even have him betray the Time Lords. They could tell how the Doctor sealed the Medusa Cascade and most important how he became the 9th doctor.I would love to see a full length movie.Another idea was they could have done it on tv while DT is off on leave. They could have filmed a season with the 8th doctor telling the Time War story up to Rose. Then I wouldn't have Doctor withdrawls til he returns.
I just saw Midnight,It was very good,The shows have been getting better each week.I can't wait for Rose next week.

Anonymous said...

My dad actually had the idea that for one of the series the Doctor should have sat down with Rose in the TARDIS and told her the story of the Time War in a giant flashback involving the 8th Doctor, thus giving him official screen time on the show and letting us know what happened in the Time War.

Anonymous said...

harriet jones is back
& this is definite

i saw it in the tv listings ages ago in a section about the actress saying shes back, but in a different form - a dalek :)

Hamzah said...

Alrighty then, Davros is the creator of the daleks it seemed that he died in the classic series but i guess he didnt then.Methinks Dalek Caan was somehow able to open up the void leaving all the daleks from the Genisis Ark able to come out.So then the judoon are paid by a unknown force to eliminate some aliens eg. Humans/us or daleks Ect.

So theen the doctor goes to the shadow proclimation who sould be a helpful organisation but PROBABLY are under lead of davros who lays a trap for our beloved doctor and so on because I havent a clue what would happen next but I do know the Doctor regenerates into a new person you have probably never heard of.

Any More Questions? Eh

P.S There is a new Dalek. A Red One Called The Dalek Supreme Watch Out For Him!

Hamzah said...

I researed the dalek suprme and apparently Dalek Sec was one and also there has ALLREADY been afew others some RED and some BLUE.

Hamzah said...

Did you know before Davros created the daleks they used to be a peaceful race called the Kaleds (its an anagram of Daleks) So then davros experimented on his people to make them into Daleks but they turned on him and SHOULD of killed hom because they think that they are the superior beings in the universe and the doctor is sent to stop them and that causses the time war.
DONT YOU THINK THERE IS A FEW ANNAGRAMS IN DOCTOR WHO
CHRISTMAS SPECIAL -ASTRID=TARDIS
TORCHWOOD=DOCTORWHO
So that me done.

Hamzah said...

Id like to say my class on a school trip were heading for Marks and spencers when we saw DAVID TENNANT I GOT A PICTURE WITH HIM THAT I LOST.

Anonymous said...

I was watching the dalek fleet explode and I am almost sure you can see a small saucer escaping on the right side(your right) of the screen.
