Even though Karen confirmed her return, the subject of whether or not Amy and Rory are returning to Doctor Who in Series 7 has become a topic of suspicion and speculation, after a 'source' suggested otherwise to Daily Star.
“There are going to be a lot of tears in the finale. The Doctor will set off in the TARDIS for his next adventure on his own. Amy and Rory will be reunited with their baby Melody Pond and they make a decision to stay on Earth to settle down as a family.”
This could possibly be true, as Arthur Darvill is set to be in a play until October 2nd. Karen Gillan's other projects could also be taking place during the filming of Series 7 or the Christmas special. The source did add, however:
“TV bosses are aware the couple have been popular so this won’t be the last you see of them.”
Maybe they will come back some time during the 7th series? Or maybe just one of them will come back?
