ANYWAY! Thanks to Colin Robertson, reporting for The Sun, this might possibly maybe be happening for the Christmas Special
DOCTOR Who will become Doctor Two this Christmas, when the Time Lord meets a future version of himself.
Show creator Russell T Davies revealed: “The real heart of it is the beginning.
“The Doctor arrives, hears a damsel in distress, he steps forward to save her when this other man swings in, dashing, brilliant, amazing, clever, witty, saves the day.
“The Doctor says: ‘Who are you?’ The man says, ‘I’m the Doctor!’ The Doctor becomes his companion. There will be a beautiful woman too, of course, but really it’s the Doctor paired with a new Doctor.”
David Morrissey plays Time Lord No 2 in the festive episode called The Next Doctor.
Russell added the next series of the hit BBC1 show would be sexier under new lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat.
Russell, who is stepping aside, added: “Look at Steven — he’s a writer clearly driven by sex.”
He also admitted that Hollywood superstar Kate Winslet had turned down a role in the last series to play the Doctor’s wife.
So there you go!
Whether this actually is true or not is unknown, but it certainly sounds interesting!

yay
you used my link =D
I think the Sun is blowing it up again. This man will probably be a wannabe Doctor, not a real one.
I agree with .. mm anonymous. :P If you look at the Russell quote on the BBC's site (well, it's really reproduced here) it doesn't say anything about this "new Doctor" being a future version of THE Doctor - or a Time Lord, or anything. Just that he's "a new Doctor." Could totally be an impersonation or something. ... I'm just saying. It _could_ be one of the Doc's future regens, too... just that the Sun could be making some major assumptions here. :)
I think it's a bad idea. Moffat's going to want his own guy for the changeover. And whoever the creative controller is when Doctor #12 comes along is going to want his own guy too, not Morrisey. Basically he's, what, the Fourteenth Doctor? The Fifteenth? I'd really like to see this thing run its course and be peacefully put to bed when the time comes for 13 to hang up his hat. Maybe that's silly, I don't know, but I see the addition of Morrisey to the official canon of Doctors as running counter to that. Maybe they can do an end-run around it.
3 words as stated, from RTD diary, they are trying to steer us off "the one doctor" too, its possible
As ever, The Sun has only half the story. "The Next Doctor" is just a hypothetical title Davies considered, along with "The Other Doctor." We still don't know what the actual title is. Similarly, RTD made no comment whatsoever on whether the other Doctor is a genuine future Doctor, or a fake as in The One Doctor spin-off story (I'm not sure if it was a novel or an audio).
why am i banned jess
When it says the Doctor becomes his companion, I guess it means the real Doctor becomes the other Doctor's companion. That sounds funny. And if he doesn't recognize the Tenth Doctor, he's obviously not the genuine article. Plus the Doctor will know right away if he's a Time Lord.
From what I've heard from set reports it seems to me that Morrisey is a impostor Doctor trying to get rich off of the real Doctors reputation.
Russell, who is stepping aside, added: “Look at Steven — he’s a writer clearly driven by sex.”
I think that S5/2010 should be the year of new things for DW. for better or worst.
Sorry, but I just can't help myself:
Fo' sizzle, fizzle!
(Translated: I totally agree, fizzle.)
You can't believe what the Sun newspaper says. The Sun said that Tennant would be leaving halfway through season 4. They were wrong that time.
"Russell added the next series of the hit BBC1 show would be sexier under new lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat."
I don't think a "sexier" show would be a good idea. You can get that kind of SciFi other places.
The doctor can t be doctor s companions it trick.
