Eighth Doctor's Movie

Doctor Who (1996)

The Master's last wish, before he was sentenced to death by the Time lords, was for his old enemy, the Doctor, to bring his remains home.

But, when a snake like entity causes the TARDIS to crash and the Doctor to be killed, the Master is reborn.

In San Francisco on New Year's Eve, a trap is sprung that could mean the end of the world. Only the newly-regenerated Eight Doctor can stop the Master — if he can only remember who he is.

In this movie(1996) where the 8th Doctor showing up from regeneration , Had he ever been mentioned or featured as a half human?
I saw some writings saying the Doctor was born half-human.
I'm really curious to know that.

The Doctor was never half human. It was a mistake that the film makers made and was so silly as it was so crucial to the plot... also, the Eye of Harmony is not located in the TARDIS like the film suggests.

Its the reason that some people don't view the 8th Doctor as being cannon, but since RTD has named Tennant as the 10th Doctor then it means he does see it as cannon.

Thank you so much for your useful and helpful explanation, Jess.

I would suggest including either the big finish productions on the list or perhaps having a 2nd category including them. Or perhaps a link to the episodes in question.

They are quite good.

The Master wasn't sentenced to death by the Time Lords it was the Daleks! Watch the movie.

And there is no reason why the Doctor cannot be half human. We know he can be fully human at times(Human Nature)so why can't he be half human ?

He is a Time Lord but not all people from Gallifrey are Timelords (see Invasion of Time from classic series) which suggests its a Gallifrian status rather than a race.

Actually, he is not half human. The Doctor has two hearts. Later, a half human version of the Doctor tells Rose that he is half human because he only has one heart. That is in a parallel world though.

The Doctor being half human bothered me not as much as the snogs. Woah! But that was a long time ago. His human heritage amkes perfect sense. For long time fans of the show, everything makes sense about it. The way his people treated him. His affinity for the human race and all he does for them. His attitude compared to most Gallefreyens, his dress, his companions. It makes perfect sense. It's canon and we just need to accept it. You have to read Lungbarrow to get the gist of how Gallefreyens reproduce. His father fell in love with an Earth woman (Penelope I believe) and facilitated the Loom of Lungbarrow to produce a child. The human DNA is what attracts the Other's DNA, still in the loom at this time, to be reconstituted into a Gallefreyen with human DNA.

He speaks of his love for Earthen things like railroads and seems to show greater physical ability that the average Gallefreyen. Half human is just fine. Humany woomany.

Now all the kissing... BAH. Enough already. ;)
