But anybody think Lilly Allen would be like Piper, eg the scummy london girl, with some pluck and brawn while also looking pretty?
Surely they would need a new character personality rather than rehashing ideas again?
I doubt very much whether any of the possibilities suggested in the press will get the role of the Doctor's companion.
No doubt Steven Moffat will have his own ideas, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has somebody specific in mind. In fact somebody might even have been cast already.
Personally I would love to see Moffat plundering one of his own past stories, and casting Cary Mulligan as Sally Sparrow in the companion role. Or maybe it's about time Maria Jackson (Yasmine Paige) graduated from Sarah Jane's attic to the Tardis. Moffat, however, always has a tendancy to look to the future rather than the past. So I think it's more likely that it will be somebody new, and probably not somebody who is already a celebrity.
One possibility I would like to see is a male companion. Or a man and a woman, as was the norm in the 1st and 2nd Doctor's time, and happened again with the 4th and 5th.
How about River Song :G
Maria/Yasmin is too young to be with an already young Doctor. I'm hoping for multiple companions, male and female, personally. Shift the romance subplot onto them and keep the Doctor out of it - I'm by no means against the Doctor falling in love, but RTD's series did that plot pretty thoroughly, and like the Daleks, it could do with a break.
Matt's Mith sister = Type Phwoar-ty !
Yasmine Paige will be 18 by the time series 5 starts filming. That's old enough in my book.
I also hear tell that Frazer Hines may be returning to Doctor Who as Jamie McCrimmon. Wouldn't it be great if it wasn't just a one off, and he was the 11th Doctor's regular companion! Mind you, there's the fact that the Time Lords wiped his memory of all his adventures with the Doctor after the first to get around.
A younger Doctor with an older male companion (especially such a famous face from the past) would make a very interesting combination though, in my opinion.
OMG!! Lily Allen!! No No No No No No!! Please don't do this to me. It's already bad that David is leaving *with his great hair* If lily allen becomes his companion. I refuse 2 watch it. Hm! *waits a few seconds then runs over to the TV and puts on doctor who on 100 volume* I'll never leave you!!

There's no rumour that Jamie might be returning, Frazer Hines just said that he'd like to be asked to come back.
I don t mind which is New companions to travel with The 11th Doctor.
