The Christmas Invasion

Episode Location: Earth, London 2006
Aliens/Enemies: The Sycorax, The Santa-droids
New Characters: The Doctor, Mickey, Jackie, Harriet Jones

Episode Objective: To look after the sick Doctor, find out who is controlling the droids, and save the planet from the Sycorax.


Bullet-point Plot

• Jackie is preparing the flat for Christmas
• Mickey is working in a garage
• They both hear the TARDIS
• And go running
• The TARDIS appears
• spinning out of control
• It crashes
• And a man exits
• He wishes them merry Christmas
• Before passing out
• Rose follows him out
• And claims the man is the Doctor
• They put him in bed
• And fail to see a wisp of vortex energy
• Which emerges from his mouth
• On T.V there is a press conference
• About a space probe
• It is due to land on Mars
• But is swallowed up by a spaceship
• Rose and Mickey go Christmas shopping
• But are chased by Santa-droids
• Rose reckons they're after the Doctor
• She notices a new Christmas tree
• Which starts to spin
• And comes rapidly towards them
• Just as it is about to kill them
• The Doctor wakes up
• And blows up the tree with his screwdriver
• They wonder outside
• And see the Santa-droids
• The Doctor calls them pilot fish
• And collapses in pain
• He warns Rose something is coming
• Before passing out again
• The space probe receives its first signal
• An alien face
• And a ship heading for Earth
• The alien's send a message
• But Rose can't understand it
• Meaning when the Doctor's out of it
• She's not connected to the TARDIS
• Harriet Jones asks for a translation
• And for Toorchwood to be ready
• The aliens are identified as Sycorax
• And want to take over Earth
• Jones refuses to surrender
• The Sycorax respond
• Blue light sweeps over certain people
• They appear hypnotized
• And all climb to the nearest roof
• They are all A+ blood types
• So it's 1/3 of the world's population
• Harriet Jones appears on TV
• And asks The Doctor for help
• A giant ship appears in the sky
• And beams Harriet Jones and two others aboard
• One is killed
• The other is left as interpreter
• Rose decides to hide in the TARDIS
• Jackie goes back for food
• The ship is detected by the Sycorax
• And they beam it aboard
• Rose exits the ship
• And is grabbed
• She screams
• Mickey runs after her
• Dropping a flask of tea
• He, too, is grabbed
• The Sycorax taunts the humans
• And gradually begins speaking English
• Rose realizes the the TARDIS is translating
• Which means The Doctor is ok
• The Doctor emerges
• Tells the Sycorax to shut up
• Tells Rose all he needed was a cup of tea
  
• And asks her how he looks
• The Sycorax demands to know who he is
• The Doctor says he doesn't know
• He sees a button
  
• Pushes it
• Frees the hypnotized people
• And challenges the Sycorax
• For the planet
• They have a swordfight
• The Doctor has his hand chopped off
• But grows a new one
• As he is still regenerating
• He defeats the Sycorax Leader
• First with a sword
• Then with a satsuma
  
• And commands the ship to leave
• They teleport back to the street
• Where the ship begins to leave
• However, Harriet is told Torchwood is ready
• And proceeds to blow up the ship
• The Doctor is not happy
• And causes Harriet's downfall
• By commenting she looks tired
• Which leads to heath scares
• The Doctor chooses a new wardrobe
• And joins the others for dinner
• It begins to snow
• Rose and The Doctor watch
  
• And confirm that they still want to travel together
