Boom Town

Episode Objective: To stop Margaret from blowing up Cardiff

Bullet-point Plot

• Mickey arrives in Cardiff
• He knocks on the TARDIS
• Gets some cheek from Jack
• And gives Rose her passport...
• They are using the closed rift in Cardiff to refuel
• And are stuck for 12 hours or so...
• Margaret Blaine, Mayor of Cardiff has plans
• She's going to build a nuclear plant
• A reporter questions the mysterious deaths involved with the project
  
• Margaret draws her away
• She takes off her skin
• The Slitheen is unmasked
  
• But she hears about the reporters family
• And doesn't attack...
  
• In a cafe, The Doctor notices a newspaper
• It has the Mayor of Cardiff on it
• He recognizes her...
• Jack, Mickey, Rose and The Doctor go to see the Mayor
• She tries to run but they stop her
• And she tells them her plan:
• The power plant was to be built on the rift
• When it went into meltdown, the rift would be activated
• Margaret would surf off the planet with her 'surfboard'
• A.k.a the Tribophysical Waveform Macro-Kinetic Extrapolator
• The Doctor tells her he'll take her back to her planet
• She tells him she will be executed
  
• He says thats not his problem
• Rose and Mickey have a wander
• Mickey says he's seeing someone else...
• Margaret begs for a last meal
• The Doctor takes her out
• She tries to kill him 3 times
• And fails...
• Rose and Mickey argue
• There is a rumble and a tremor
• Everyone rushes back to the TARDIS
• They find it shooting a column of light into the sky
• As the rift is opening on top of it...
• Margaret reveals her trap:
• If anyone was to catch her,
• The extrapolator was programmed to lock onto the nearest alien power source
• A.k.a. The TARDIS
• And open the rift...
• She threatens to kill Rose
• Unless Jack giver her the extrapolator
• The rift causes the TARDIS console to open
• Margaret looks into its heart
• She lets Rose go
• Thanks The Doctor
• And the skin-suit crumples to the floor
• The console closes
• The trio close the rift
• The Doctor finds Margaret
• Reborn as an egg...
• Rose looks for Mickey
• But he leaves without making himself known
• They prepare to take the egg back to Raxacoricofallapatorius
