Episode Objective: To escape from Van Statten and the renegade Dalek.


Bullet-point Plot

• The TARDIS picks up a signal
• It arrives in an underground bunker
• The Doctor sets off an alarm
• Armed guards surround them...
• They are taken to Van Statten
• He tells a researcher, Adam, to entertain Rose
• He takes The Doctor to see his 'Metaltron'...
• The Doctor enters the 'Metaltron's' room
• He tells it he wants to help
• It revels itself to be a Dalek...
• The Doctor panics
• He realizes that the Dalek can't attack
• And begins taunting it...
• The Dalek learns its all alone
• The Doctor tries to kill it
• Van Statten stops him...
• He realizes that The Doctor is an alien
• The Doctor is chained up
• And painfully scanned...
• Rose sees the Dalek being tortured
• She asks to go and see it
• The Dalek tells her it's in pain
• Rose reaches out to comfort it
• It absorbs the genetic code of a time traveller
• It regains power...
• It kills its torturer
• And is locked in the room
• However, it begins cracking the door code...
• The Doctor tells the Dalek to die
• It doesn't
• It absorbs electricity to repair itself
• And kills all the guards...
• Adam and Rose try to escape by climbing some stairs
• It 'ELEVATES'
• And kills more guards...
• Defense doors are lowered
• Rose is trapped with the Dalek...
• The Doctor hears 'EXTERMINATE'
• He believes Rose is dead...
• Rose is not dead
• The Dalek can't kill her as it has gained emotions through Rose's DNA
• They go onto floor one
• The Dalek stops in a pool of light
• It opens its shell so it can feel the sun...
• The Doctor turns up with a gun
• But Rose stops him
• The Dalek asks Rose to order it to die
• Rose reluctantly does
• The Doctor is a bit sad.. he's all alone
• Rose says they should take Adam along
